Office Chair Base Feet

Admin October 12, 2026

Office chair base feet come in a variety of types, and prices vary due to factors such as material and craftsmanship. When purchasing, it is necessary to pay attention to specifications and testing information to ensure stability.

Common materials for office chair base feet include nylon, electroplated steel, and aluminum alloy, each corresponding to different price ranges. Nylon five-star feet, taking factory direct-sale accessories as an example, are available in two prices: 24 yuan and 50 yuan. Their advantages lie in their low cost and light weight, but their load-bearing capacity is relatively limited, making them suitable for light-duty office scenarios. Electroplated steel five-star feet have a wide price range, from 9.31 yuan to 57 yuan. Among them, thickened models (such as those priced at 13.16 yuan, 15.96 yuan, and 46 yuan) enhance load-bearing performance by increasing material thickness, and the electroplating process enhances corrosion resistance, making them suitable for medium-load requirements. Aluminum alloy five-star feet are the most expensive (such as 147.25 yuan). Due to their high material strength and light weight, they are commonly used in high-end office chairs and can meet long-term high-load usage requirements.

Price differences are mainly determined by material, craftsmanship, and design. Nylon material has a low cost but weak durability; electroplated steel balances cost and performance through thickening and surface treatment; aluminum alloy is expensive due to high material costs and processing precision requirements. In addition, some products enhance stability through structural optimization (such as five-claw design), but this needs to be judged in conjunction with specific specifications.

When purchasing, two key points need to be focused on: First, specification matching. It is necessary to select the size of the base feet (such as the spacing between the five claws and the diameter of the central hole) according to the overall design of the chair to ensure compatibility with components such as the gas lift and chair wheels. Second, testing information. It is advisable to prioritize products that have passed certifications such as BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association) or GB/T (Chinese National Standards). These certifications specify key parameters such as load-bearing capacity and durability. For example, thickened electroplated steel feet should be labeled with the maximum load-bearing capacity (such as 150 kg), and aluminum alloy feet should provide impact resistance test data to avoid chair tipping or damage due to insufficient strength of the base feet.

If the budget is limited and the usage scenario is short-term and light-duty (such as temporary home office work), low-priced nylon or ordinary electroplated steel feet can be chosen. If long-term use or carrying a relatively large weight (such as over 200 kg) is required, it is recommended to choose thickened electroplated steel or aluminum alloy feet and request the merchant to provide testing reports to verify performance.
