Office Chair Base Fabric
There are two common materials for office chair base fabric: non-woven fabric and high-density polyester, which differ in characteristics and applicable scenarios.

Non-woven fabric:
Its manufacturing process is similar to that of compacted marshmallows, formed by pressing polyester or polypropylene fibers at high temperatures. This material has the significant advantages of being inexpensive and having good breathability, providing users with a relatively comfortable sitting experience. However, non-woven fabric also has obvious drawbacks. Due to its relatively loose fiber structure, over long-term use, especially after three to five years, the fibers tend to gradually fall off, resulting in lint shedding. This not only affects the aesthetics of the office chair but may also cause a certain degree of pollution to the surrounding environment.
High-density polyester:
It resembles a tightly woven fishing net in appearance, with a weight of over 100 grams per square meter. This tight structure gives it excellent physical properties. Firstly, it has strong resistance to pulling. In daily use, even when subjected to significant external pulling forces, it is not prone to deformation and can always maintain the flatness and stability of the chair surface. Secondly, high-density polyester has good moisture resistance and will not mold when damp, making it highly suitable for use in southern regions during the rainy season. It can effectively prevent chair surface damage and odor caused by humid environments. At the same time, for rooms with underfloor heating, high-density polyester can also adapt well and will not have quality issues due to temperature changes. Additionally, black high-density polyester performs well in dyeing, with firm dyeing that is not prone to fading. It also has dirt-resistant properties and can maintain a relatively clean appearance even after long-term use, greatly reducing the frequency of cleaning and maintenance. Its service life can reach up to ten years.
When choosing an office chair base fabric, decisions can be made based on actual needs and usage environments. If the budget is limited and the usage frequency is not high, non-woven fabric is an economical choice. If durability and stability are pursued, especially for use in humid environments or rooms with underfloor heating, high-density polyester is a better option.
