Disassembly of Office Chair Base
The disassembly of an office chair base can be carried out according to the following steps:

Preparation:
You need to prepare a hammer, preferably a rubber hammer, as its soft material makes it less likely to damage the chair surface or the base paint during hammering. If you use an ordinary iron hammer, prepare a soft towel as a cushion to avoid direct hammering that could cause paint peeling or deformation. At the same time, move the office chair to an open and flat area to ensure sufficient operating space and prevent accidents caused by the chair tipping over or parts scattering.
Separating the Seat Cushion from the Base:
Turn the entire office chair upside down so that the chair surface faces down and the chair legs face up, making it easier to observe the bottom structure. The base is usually fixed to the seat cushion with screws, and you need to use an appropriate screwdriver (such as a Phillips or flat-head screwdriver) to unscrew the fixing screws one by one. Note: The screws may rust due to long-term use. If they are difficult to turn, you can spray a small amount of lubricant (such as WD-40) to assist in disassembly. After unscrewing all the screws, gently shake the seat cushion to confirm that it is completely separated from the base, avoiding damage to the parts due to forced pulling.
Disassembling the Base Structure:
If the base is still tightly connected to the chair legs or the gas lift, you can use the hammering method to assist in separation. Hold the chair upside down with one hand (ensuring the chair legs face up), and use a rubber hammer or an iron hammer wrapped in a towel to vertically hammer specific positions at the connection between the base edge and the chair legs (usually the protrusions or buckles on the base). Control the force during hammering to avoid excessive force that could deform the base. If it does not separate at once, try hammering from multiple angles until the base loosens. Key point: The hammering position must be accurate to avoid accidentally hitting the gas lift or the core parts of the chair legs and prevent damage to the internal structure.
Subsequent Processing:
After separating the base, check whether all the parts are intact, especially small parts such as screws and buckles, to avoid loss. If you need to reinstall it, follow the reverse steps of disassembly. If the base is damaged and needs to be replaced, it is recommended to record the model or take photos for storage to facilitate the purchase of matching new parts. Safety tip: If the operation involves the gas lift (the part for height adjustment), do not disassemble or hammer it randomly to prevent the internal high-pressure gas from spraying out and causing injury. It is recommended to hand it over to professionals for handling.
