Office Chair Base Adhesion

Admin October 11, 2026

The adhesion and fixation of an office chair base can be achieved through the following methods. Choose the appropriate solution according to actual needs and pay attention to operational specifications:

1. Fixing with Tape Prioritize transparent tape or double-sided tape from well-known brands such as 3M and Poli. These tapes have strong adhesion and good durability. Before operation, thoroughly clean the surfaces of the base and the็ฒ˜่ดด้ข (adhesion surface) to remove dust, oil, and other impurities that may affect adhesion. When applying the tape, press it evenly to ensure there are no air bubbles or wrinkles on the contact surface. After application, let it sit for 2-3 hours or more to allow the tape to fully bond. This method is suitable for temporary fixation or lightweight office chairs, but long-term use may result in tape aging and detachment.

2. Using Chair Foot Pads Chair foot pads are specially designed adhesion tools made of materials such as silicone, rubber, suction cups, self-adhesive types, or metal. Among them, self-adhesive foot pads do not require drilling and can be installed by direct adhesion, offering convenient operation and minimal damage to the base. Silicone or rubber foot pads have anti-slip and wear-resistant properties, effectively reducing friction noise between the base and the floor. Suction cup foot pads are suitable for smooth floors but require regular inspection of the adhesion status. When choosing, ensure that the size of the foot pads matches the base to avoid sliding or instability due to size mismatch.

3. Other Auxiliary Fixation Methods If the fixation effect of tape or foot pads is not satisfactory, tools such as elastic clips and magnetic clips can be used to enhance stability. Elastic clips fix the base through mechanical pressure and are suitable for metal or hard materials. Magnetic clips require magnetic materials on the base or floor, offering convenient operation but limited adhesion. Additionally, auxiliary tools such as spring supports and plastic supports can reduce base shaking through structural support, but it is necessary to choose models with strong compatibility according to the chair design to avoid installation difficulties or reduced comfort.

Precautions

  • Avoid using low-quality glue: Low-quality glue may release harmful substances such as formaldehyde and benzene, posing health risks from long-term exposure, and its adhesion is unstable, leading to easy detachment.
  • Size matching: The sizes of the base and the adhesion surface or foot pads must be strictly matched. An oversized fit may affect aesthetics, while an undersized fit may result in sliding or unstable fixation.
  • Product selection principles: Prioritize products with strong adhesion, reliable quality, and high cost-effectiveness. Qualified brands can be screened by checking product certifications (such as SGS and RoHS) or user reviews.
