Office Chair Backrest Test
The office chair backrest test mainly includes backrest static pressure testing and backrest durability testing, and requires the use of specific testing equipment.

Backrest Static Pressure Testing
This evaluates the structural tolerance of the seat backrest under continuous vertical pressure from a mechanical perspective. During testing, a force plate of a specified size is placed in a specific area of the backrest (determined based on ergonomic data), and a vertical downward static pressure is applied at a constant rate and maintained for a specified time. During this period, the displacement data and structural status of the backrest are monitored, with attention paid to whether the load-bearing frame and connecting components exhibit professional deformation, cracks, or functional failures, thereby determining whether the product meets the basic mechanical requirements for safe use.
Backrest Durability Testing
This scientifically quantifies and evaluates the resistance, functional retention, and potential failure risks of the backrest structure under fatigue stress by simulating long-term, repetitive loads in real-world usage scenarios. The testing scope covers all types of office chair backrest components and their associated structures, with testing items including:
- Reciprocating Fatigue Testing: This assesses the structural integrity and reliability of connecting components of the backrest under simulated repeated human leaning-back actions, recording the number of test cycles until failure phenomena such as loss of function, breakage, excessive permanent deformation, or abnormal noises occur.
- Static Load Testing: A constant maximum load or overload is applied to the backrest to evaluate its strength and deformation under extreme static forces, checking for cracks, breakage, or irreversible deformation.
- Mechanism Durability Testing: For adjustable backrests (such as tilt-lock mechanisms, angle adjusters, elastic tension adjustment knobs, etc.), this tests their functional effectiveness, wear conditions, and changes in operating force after repeated operations.
- Stability and Offset Testing: The angular offset of the backrest relative to the seat or base under load is measured to evaluate its structural looseness after long-term use.
- Appearance and Function Inspection: Before, during, and after testing, the wear and wrinkling of the upholstery fabric, the compression permanent deformation of the filling material, and the smoothness of all adjustment functions are evaluated.
Related Testing Equipment
This includes office chair backrest fatigue testing machines, office chair seat-back durability testing machines (TST - F404), etc., which can simulate real-world usage scenarios to complete various tests.
