Office Chair Back Broken
If the back of your office chair is broken, you can try the following repair methods:

Check the Breakage
First, carefully observe the location and extent of the backrest breakage. Pay special attention to whether the breakage occurs at connection points, such as where the backrest connects to the chair body or support structure. Check if the screws are loose by gently shaking the backrest with your hand to feel for any noticeable gaps or movement. If loose screws are found, use an appropriate screwdriver to tighten them. Loose screws can cause uneven stress on the backrest, leading to breakage over long-term use. Tightening the screws can restore the stability of the backrest to some extent and resolve breakage issues caused by loose connections.
Replace Components
When the support structure of the backrest is broken, such as a wooden strip or metal rod, the damaged component needs to be replaced. You can search the market for wooden strips or metal rods that match the material and specifications of the original component for replacement. When replacing, first remove the original broken component, being careful to avoid causing secondary damage to other parts of the chair during the process. At the same time, record the installation order and method, which is crucial for subsequent installation of the new component. After installing the new component in place, ensure that the connection is secure by gently shaking the backrest to check if the new component is installed stably.
Adhesive Repair
For backrests made of some plastic materials, if only cracks appear, strong adhesive can be used for repair. Before applying the adhesive, ensure that the crack area is clean and free of debris, as debris can affect the bonding effect of the adhesive. Apply the adhesive evenly on both sides of the crack, then carefully align and paste them to ensure the crack is completely closed. Wait for the adhesive to fully dry and cure. The drying time varies for different adhesives, so follow the time specified in the adhesive instructions to ensure the repair effect. In addition, some people use adhesive to bond the backrest together and then use adjustable clamps or tape to fix the backrest, enhancing the stability of the repaired area. However, if the repair is ineffective, you can only purchase a new backrest or the entire chair.
