Office Chair Back and Forth Rocking
The back-and-forth adjustment of office chairs is usually carried out according to different adjustment mechanisms. Here are some common adjustment methods:

For office chairs with a gas-lift rod design, such as models like G8587, start by sitting firmly. Then, use your hand to pull up the long lever located below the front of the seat. This releases the seat lock, allowing your body to move the seat back and forth. Once adjusted to the desired position, release the lever, and the seat will automatically lock. This adjustment method is relatively convenient and enables quick adjustment of the seat's front-back position.
Most conventional ergonomic office chairs have their adjustment mechanisms concentrated below the seat. When operating, stand to the side of the chair, reach out and find the circular knob or lever at the connection point between the chair leg and the seat. Press and hold the knob while pushing the chair back and forth along the floor to adjust it to the desired sitting distance. Release the knob to automatically lock the new position. This design makes the adjustment process intuitive, allowing users to easily locate the adjustment components and operate them.
The adjustment method for office seats is also quite common. Generally, find the lever that can be lifted upwards on the left or right side below the seat (for some lift chairs, the front-back adjustment lever and the lift lever are designed separately). After lifting the lever, gently move your hips backward or forward to adjust the seat's front-back position. The appropriate standard is that when your feet are flat on the ground, your knees should be naturally bent at about 90 degrees, and there should be a fist-sized gap between your thighs and the front edge of the seat. Once adjusted to the right position, release the lever, and the seat will automatically tighten and lock. This adjustment method focuses on ergonomics, enabling users to find the most comfortable sitting posture.
In addition, there are some other adjustment methods. For office chairs with a gas-lift rod adjustment mechanism, sit on the chair and lean slightly forward. Locate the control lever of the gas-lift rod below the chair. Pulling it upwards while gently leaning back allows the chair back to tilt backward and adjust the front-back angle. Pulling it downwards while leaning forward returns the chair to its initial position. For office chairs with a knob adjustment mechanism, the adjustment knob is usually located on the side or below. Turn the knob counterclockwise to release the backrest lock and adjust the front-back tilt angle of the backrest. After adjustment, turn the knob clockwise to fix the angle. For office chairs with a lever adjustment mechanism, the adjustment device is usually located on the side of the chair. Pulling the lever allows you to switch between different gears, with each gear corresponding to a fixed front-back tilt angle of the backrest. You can choose the appropriate gear according to your sitting comfort.
