The disassembly of the office chair axle center requires selecting an appropriate method based on the wheel type and rust condition, and attention should be paid to tool usage and component protection during operation.

I. Disassembly Methods

1. Tapping Method
   This method is suitable for mildly rusted metal axles. Invert the chair and use a claw hammer or rubber mallet to gently tap the end of the axle core (the end closer to the ground) from the outside of the wheel towards the inside. When tapping, place a cloth piece to avoid metal scratches, and apply even force. Generally, 2-3 taps are sufficient to loosen it. This method breaks the rust layer and friction through vibration, allowing the axle core to separate from the wheel frame.

2. Pliers Extraction Method
   Designed for plastic snap-on wheels. Use needle-nose pliers to grip the protrusion at the bottom of the axle core, rotate counterclockwise while pulling outward. If there is significant resistance, spray a small amount of WD-40 lubricant into the gap of the axle core and let it sit for 5 minutes before operating. If the plastic snap breaks, insert a thin screwdriver into the gap of the wheel frame to pry open the snap position, avoiding forced pulling that could deform the wheel frame.

3. Lubrication-Assisted Disassembly
   Wheels that have not been maintained for a long time may have difficulty extracting the axle core due to dust accumulation. In this case, use a toothbrush to clean debris around the wheel axle, apply cooking oil or liquid paraffin to the contact surface, and let it sit for half an hour before attempting to rotate and extract. This method is safer for nylon wheel frames and can prevent cracking or deformation of the bracket caused by forced disassembly.

II. Special Case Handling

1. Threaded Axle Center
   Some gas-lift chairs have threaded wheel axles. Simply rotate counterclockwise to separate them without tapping or pliers extraction. Before operation, confirm the connection method between the wheel frame and the axle core to avoid damage caused by misuse of methods.

2. Wheel Frame Aging Replacement
   If the plastic of the wheel frame is aged and cracked, it is recommended to replace the entire set of wheels directly (market price approximately 10-30 yuan per wheel). When replacing, measure whether the diameter of the axle hole is the standard 11mm size to ensure that the new wheels match the axle core and avoid instability or jamming during installation.

III. Operation Precautions

1. Floor Protection
   It is recommended to lay cardboard on the ground during disassembly to prevent scratches on the floor when the chair is inverted and to provide a stable operating surface.

2. Tool Selection
   Preferably use a rubber mallet or claw hammer to avoid direct tapping with a metal hammer that could deform the axle core or wheel frame. Choose needle-nose pliers for easy gripping of small axle cores.

3. Safety Protection
   Wear gloves during operation to avoid contact between lubricants and skin or eyes. If the axle core is severely rusted, it is recommended to wear safety goggles to prevent debris from flying.
