Office Chair Assembly Tips

Admin October 10, 2026

Follow these steps to assemble an office chair, ensuring proper operation and safety:

1. Install the Chair Wheels and Gas Lift
Insert each chair wheel into the mounting holes of the five-star base, ensuring the wheels are fully embedded and rotate freely. After flipping the base, vertically place the thicker end of the gas lift into the center hole of the base. For some products, press the wheels into the chair corners and then into the center hole. For brands like Deli with ball-bearing designs, direct pressing is sufficient. Ensure the gas lift remains vertical to avoid uneven force distribution due to tilting.

2. Secure the Base Plate and Seat Cushion
Place the base plate on the bottom of the seat cushion, confirming the orientation according to markings (such as arrow indicators). Align the screw holes, then use a screwdriver to tighten each screw 3-4 turns initially (to prevent misalignment from over-tightening), and then fully tighten them one by one. Ensure the base plate and seat cushion are fully flush with no looseness.

3. Connect the Seat Cushion and Gas Lift
Align the hole at the bottom of the seat cushion with the top of the gas lift and insert it vertically to the bottom, ensuring the gas lift is fully embedded in the base plate hole. For some products designed with the gas cylinder directly fitting into the base plate, confirm that the catch or locking mechanism is in place.

4. Install the Backrest and Armrests

  • Backrest Installation: Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the armrest mounting positions on both sides of the seat cushion and insert them. First, secure the bottom of the backrest with screws from the bottom of the armrest brackets, then align the back of the backrest with the mounting holes on the seat cushion brackets and tighten the screws crosswise with two wrenches (to prevent misalignment from unilateral force). Some products use three M8 screws to secure the backrest, which should be tightened evenly.
  • Armrest Installation: Press the button below the armrest surface, insert the left and right armrests into the armrest bracket holes respectively, and a 'click' sound indicates the catch is in place. Some products require connecting the armrests to the seat cushion first, then flipping the chair seat to secure the other side.

5. Secure the Headrest (if applicable)
Place the headrest vertically in the center of the top of the backrest, press the headrest mounting area to fit it against the backrest, and insert screws through the fixing catches and tighten them 3-4 turns initially, then fully tighten them one by one. For some products, the headrest is inserted into the backrest mounting plate last, ensuring the slot is fully embedded.

6. Install the Footrest (optional)
If the product comes with a footrest, align it with the hole at the bottom of the seat cushion and insert it, ensuring the catch or screws are firmly fixed to prevent detachment during use.

Precautions:

  • Check the parts list before assembly to avoid missing screws or catches.
  • For brands like Deli, follow the arrow indicators during installation, and slightly adjust the angle of the backrest screws before tightening.
  • Keep all components vertically aligned throughout the process to avoid damaging parts from excessive force.
  • After assembly, check that all screws are tight and that the wheels and gas lift rotate smoothly.
