Office Chair Assembly Instructions

Admin October 09, 2026

The assembly of an office chair should be carried out step by step according to the specifications to ensure structural stability and normal functionality. The specific process is as follows:

I. Pre-assembly Preparation

  1. Tool Organization: Prepare a Phillips screwdriver, an adjustable wrench (a hex wrench may be required for some models), a rubber mallet (for gently tapping clips), and scissors (for opening packaging).
  2. Component Verification: Check all components against the instruction manual's list, including chair legs (five-star or four-legged), gas lift (height adjustment column), seat, backrest, armrests, headrest (for some models), screw pack, and instruction manual. If any components are missing or damaged, contact after-sales service promptly for replacement.

II. Step-by-Step Assembly Process (Conventional Method)

  1. Chair Leg and Gas Lift Installation: Place the chair legs flat on the ground with the center hole facing upwards. Insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole and press gently until fully embedded.
  2. Seat Attachment: Align the mounting hole at the bottom of the seat with the top of the gas lift and press down slowly until you hear a 'click' sound, indicating that the clip is locked. For chairs with adjustable tilt functionality, install the tilt control handle simultaneously.
  3. Backrest and Armrest Connection:
    • Backrest installation comes in two types: pre-assembled (where the backrest is already connected to the seat via hinges) requires adjusting the angle to vertical; for split types, use screws to secure the backrest to the metal bracket at the rear of the seat.
    • For armrest installation, align the screw holes on both sides of the seat and tighten with the provided screws, ensuring symmetry between the left and right armrests.
  4. Additional Component Installation:
    • Headrest: Insert the rod into the้ข„็•™ (pre-drilled) hole at the top of the backrest and rotate to the desired height.
    • Lumbar support (if applicable): Attach it to the middle of the backrest using Velcro or clips.
    • Casters: Forcefully press the wheels into the holes at the ends of the chair legs until you hear a 'click' sound, indicating completion.

III. Alternative Assembly Method (Bottom-Up)

  1. First, install the casters into the holes at the ends of the chair legs, ensuring the clips are locked.
  2. Place the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the chair legs.
  3. Secure the base plate to the bottom of the seat with screws.
  4. Connect the backrest to the seat (adjust the angle for pre-assembled types; secure with screws for split types).
  5. Insert the seat and base plate combination vertically into the gas lift.
  6. Finally, install the armrests and headrest.

IV. Post-assembly Inspection and Adjustment

  1. Key Inspections:
    • Structural stability: Shake the chair to test for loose connections.
    • Functional normality: Test the smoothness of height adjustment, tilt, and rotation.
    • Safety details: Check for exposed screws and ensure the wheels are firmly attached.
  2. Personalized Adjustment: Adjust the backrest tilt tension, headrest height, and armrest width according to your usage habits to ensure comfort and support.
