Office Chair Assembly Instructions
Admin October 09, 2026
The assembly of an office chair should be carried out in accordance with the specified steps. The detailed process is as follows:

I. Pre-assembly Preparation
- Component Verification: Ensure that all parts are complete, including chair legs, casters, gas lift, base, seat, backrest, armrests, headrest, as well as screws, washers, and other accessories. If any parts or accessories are missing, contact the supplier for replacement.
- Tool Preparation: Prepare a Phillips screwdriver and an Allen wrench (required for some models), ensuring that the tools match the screw specifications.
II. Assembly Steps
- Install Casters: Align each caster with the holes on the chair legs (star-shaped base) and press firmly or rotate to secure. Some models may require screws to be inserted; ensure that the casters are tightly connected to the chair legs without any wobbling.
- Install Gas Lift: Insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the chair legs and press gently until it is fully embedded. Ensure that it is stable and perpendicular to the chair legs to avoid instability during subsequent use.
- Secure Base: Align the base with the bottom of the seat and fix it with screws. Pay attention to aligning the base direction with the seat design (e.g., the position of the adjustment buttons). The screws should be initially tightened to facilitate subsequent adjustments.
- Connect Seat to Gas Lift: Insert the seat (including the base) vertically into the top of the gas lift and press gently until it clicks into place, ensuring that there are no gaps at the connection. Test the lifting function of the gas lift to confirm that the seat height can be freely adjusted.
- Install Armrests: Align the armrests with the holes on both sides of the seat and fix them with screws. Some models may require step-by-step tightening (e.g., fix one side first, then adjust the other side) to facilitate subsequent adjustments to the armrest angle or height.
- Install Backrest:
- Align the backrest with the connection holes on the seat and install the bottom screws first (do not tighten them yet) to facilitate adjusting the backrest tilt angle.
- Lift the backrest to a vertical position, install the top screws, and then tighten all screws to ensure that the backrest is stable without any looseness.
- Install Headrest: Insert the headrest into the top hole of the backrest and tighten the fixing screws. If the headrest height is adjustable, test its sliding function to ensure it works properly.
- Inspection and Adjustment:
- Shake the chair to test its overall stability and confirm that there are no abnormal noises or loose parts.
- Adjust the lifting function of the gas lift, the angle of the armrests, and the height of the headrest to ensure that all functions meet usage requirements.
III. Precautions
- Assembly Sequence: It is recommended to assemble from the bottom up (casters โ chair legs โ gas lift โ seat โ armrests โ backrest โ headrest) to avoid repeated disassembly or adjustments.
- Screw Tightening: Except for the connection between the armrests and the backrest, which can be tightened step by step, all other screws should be tightened at once to prevent parts from falling off.
- Abnormal Noise Inspection: After assembly, shake the chair left and right. If any abnormal noises or looseness are detected, recheck the tightness of the screws or whether the parts are properly connected.
- Model Differences: Some models may include additional parts such as butterfly plates and safety screws. Adjust the assembly steps according to the instructions to avoid missing key accessories.
