Office Chair Assembly Instruction

Admin October 16, 2026

The steps for assembling an office chair are as follows:

  1. Install the Chair Legs and Wheels
Insert the five wheels (or casters) one by one into the five holes on the chair legs, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and firmly secured. Apply vertical force when inserting to prevent the wheels from tilting and causing poor contact. After completion, gently shake the chair legs to check if the wheels rotate flexibly and are not loose.

  2. Install the Gas Lift
Insert the gas lift (pneumatic rod) vertically into the central hole of the chair legs, ensuring that the bottom of the gas lift is fully in contact with the chair legs. Keep the gas lift upright during insertion to prevent tilting, which could lead to instability during the subsequent installation of the seat plate. Some gas lifts need to be rotated to lock them in place; follow the product instructions for operation.

  3. Secure the Seat Plate and Base
Align the base (which includes components for controlling height adjustment and rotation) with the mounting holes on the bottom of the seat plate. Use four long screws to pass through the holes in the base from the bottom of the seat plate and tighten them. Tighten the screws in a criss-cross pattern to ensure a tight connection between the base and the seat plate, preventing any abnormal noises or looseness during use.

  4. Connect the Backrest and Seat Plate

    • Method One (Universal Type): Align the connecting angle brackets of the backrest and the seat plate. When fixing with screws, pay attention to the direction (e.g., refer to the black fabric markings) to ensure that the backrest is perpendicular to the seat plate.
    • Method Two (With Armrests Type): Use four M625mm screws to install the connection between the armrests and the backrest, and then use four M630mm screws to connect the corresponding holes of the armrests and the seat cushion. Tighten the screws step by step to avoid applying force on one side only, which could cause misalignment of the components.
  5. Install the Armrest Supports and Decorative Covers
Align the armrest supports with the holes on the bottom of the armrests and fix them with two M8*25mm screws. After installation, press the decorative covers onto the screw holes to cover the screw heads and enhance the aesthetic appeal. Ensure that the decorative covers fit completely without leaving any gaps.

  6. Install the Headrest
Align the metal rod of the headrest with the hole at the top of the backrest and use two M6*25mm screws to pass through from the back of the backrest and tighten them. Keep the headrest level during installation to prevent tilting, which could affect comfort. Some headrests support height adjustment; adjust them to the desired position according to your needs.

Precautions:

  • Before assembly, check the quantity of all components to avoid missing screws or parts.
  • When using tools (such as screwdrivers), control the force to prevent scratching the surface of the components.
  • If you encounter misaligned holes or screws that cannot be inserted, stop the operation and check if the components are oriented correctly.
