Office Chair Assembly Guide
Office chairs are generally assembled in a bottom-up order, with the following specific steps:

Install the Chair Base and Casters Attach each caster to one of the five mounting holes on the chair base, ensuring that the clips or screws on each caster are securely fastened. Some tutorials recommend completing this step first before handling the gas lift. After installation, insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the chair base, ensuring that the piston end of the gas lift faces upwards and the bottom fits snugly against the base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height, so it must be installed vertically to avoid tilting, which could cause malfunctions during subsequent use.
Secure the Seat Plate to the Seat Align the seat plate (usually made of metal or plastic) with the seat and use the provided screws (typically four long screws) to fasten the seat plate to the bottom of the seat. Ensure that the screws are tightened during installation to prevent the seat plate from loosening. The seat plate is a key component connecting the seat to the gas lift, and its stability directly affects the overall load-bearing capacity of the chair.
Connect the Backrest to the Seat Align the mounting holes on the backrest with the corresponding holes on the rear of the seat and secure them with corner brackets (metal connectors) and screws. Some backrest designs require the installation of a horizontal support bar before connecting to the seat. During installation, check that the angle between the backrest and the seat meets the design requirements (usually between 90ยฐ and 105ยฐ) to ensure comfort.
Assemble the Seat with the Gas Lift Place the seat assembly (with the seat plate already installed) vertically so that the central hole of the seat plate aligns with the piston end of the gas lift. Gently press down until it is fully seated. Be sure to apply even pressure during this step to avoid damaging the gas lift from impact. After installation, test the seat height adjustment by operating the gas lift to ensure smooth operation.
Install the Armrests and Headrest Depending on the design type of the armrests (fixed or adjustable), align them with the mounting holes on both sides of the seat and secure them with screws. The headrest is usually attached to the top of the backrest using clips or screws and should be adjusted to the appropriate height. Some high-end office chairs feature multi-directional adjustable armrests, which should be adjusted to their initial positions according to the instructions during installation.
Precautions:
- Before assembly, check that all components are present to avoid interruptions due to missing parts.
- When using tools (such as screwdrivers), control the force applied to avoid scratching the seat surface or damaging the screw holes.
- If you encounter misaligned screw holes or stuck components, do not force installation; instead, recheck the alignment.
- After installation, thoroughly test all functions (such as height adjustment, rotation, and armrest adjustment) to ensure they are working properly.
