Office Chair Assembly Details

Admin October 10, 2026

The assembly of an office chair should be carried out according to the following steps to ensure that all components are securely connected and the operation is safe:

  1. Install the casters and chair base Insert each caster into the mounting holes of the five-pronged chair base one by one, ensuring that each caster is fully embedded and free of looseness. After installation, place the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the chair base and keep it upright. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height, so it must be tightly connected to the chair base to prevent wobbling during subsequent use.

  2. Install the seat plate and seat Place the seat plate at the bottom of the seat, paying attention to the orientation of the seat plate (usually clearly marked), and align it with the four screw holes on the seat. Use a screwdriver to screw each screw in 3-4 turns in sequence. After initial fixation, tighten them one by one to ensure a firm connection between the seat plate and the seat. Some models may adopt a pre-installed screw design, and the operation sequence should be adjusted according to the instructions.

  3. Connect the seat and the gas lift Align the hole at the bottom of the seat plate with the top of the gas lift and insert it vertically downwards until it is fully in place. Keep the gas lift upright during this step to prevent unstable connection due to tilting. After insertion, gently press the seat to test its firmness and ensure there is no gap between the gas lift and the seat plate.

  4. Install the backrest Align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the mounting holes of the armrests on both sides of the seat and slowly insert them to the bottom. First, use two C-shaped screws to pass through from the bottom of the armrest brackets to fix the connection between the bottom of the backrest and the armrests. Then, align the mounting holes at the back of the backrest with the holes on the seat brackets and use D-shaped screws and double wrenches for locking and fixation. This step requires two people to collaborate to ensure that the backrest is vertical and free of tilting.

  5. Install the armrests Press the elastic button below the armrest surface and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively. A clicking sound indicates that they are properly installed. Some models of armrests have adjustable heights, and they should be adjusted to the appropriate position according to needs before installation.

  6. Install the headrest Align the bottom of the headrest with the middle slot at the top of the backrest and gently press it to embed it. Pass two screws through the headrest fixing clips and screw them into the reserved holes on the backrest. First, screw each screw in 3-4 turns for preliminary fixation, and then tighten them completely. The height of the headrest should be adjusted according to the position of the user's neck to ensure comfortable support.

Precautions:

  • Check that all accessories are complete before assembly to avoid interruption due to missing parts.
  • Tighten the screws in stages to prevent slipping caused by excessive force in a single attempt.
  • Test the lifting function of the gas lift after installation to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise.
  • After assembly, conduct a comprehensive check of the connection points of all components and shake the chair to test its stability.
