Office Chair Assembly Combination

Admin October 16, 2026

The general steps for assembling an office chair combination are as follows:

  1. Install the chair wheels and five-star base
Align the chair wheels with the holes on the five-star base, and firmly insert or screw them in (some models may require rotation for securing). Ensure all wheels are installed securely to prevent looseness. The five-star base serves as the supporting foundation and should be placed steadily to provide a stable working surface for subsequent steps.

  2. Install the gas lift
Flip the five-star base upside down, remove the protective cap from the top of the gas lift, and vertically insert the gas lift into the central hole of the five-star base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height. When inserting, confirm the correct direction to avoid tilting, which could lead to operational failures.

  3. Install the seat base and cushion
Place the cushion flat on a clean surface, align the seat base with the mounting position on the bottom of the cushion, and secure it with the provided screws. Pay attention to the orientation of the seat base (usually marked with front and back indicators), ensuring the screws are tightened until there is no wobbling. The seat base connects the cushion to the gas lift and must ensure a stable structure.

  4. Connect the cushion to the gas lift
Lift the cushion with the installed seat base and align it with the top of the gas lift, inserting it into the hole on the seat base. Some models may require a slight rotation of the cushion to secure it to the gas lift, ensuring the seat can move up and down freely without any unusual noises after connection.

  5. Install the armrests
Align the armrests with the mounting holes on both sides of the cushion and temporarily secure them with screws (do not tighten fully yet). Adjust the front-back position and height of the armrests to ensure they align with the mounting holes on the backrest. The symmetry of the armrests affects comfort, so double-check their positions.

  6. Install the backrest
Place the backrest vertically behind the cushion, align it with the holes on top of the armrests, first install the screws on both sides at the bottom of the backrest (keep them loose), then lift the backrest to install the top screws. Finally, tighten all screws uniformly to ensure a tight and seamless connection between the backrest and armrests.

  7. Install other accessories
Check that all screws are tightened and install decorative caps for the armrests (if applicable). Some models may require additional installation of a footrest or headrest: the footrest is usually secured to the five-star base with clips; the headrest needs to be inserted into the slot at the top of the backrest and secured with screws. After installation, shake the chair to test its stability.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check the list of accessories to avoid missing screws or tools.
  • Avoid applying excessive force during operation to prevent damage to parts, especially plastic components.
  • Before first use, check the height adjustment function of the gas lift and the rotation flexibility of the wheels.
