Office Chair Assembly Backrest

Admin October 09, 2026

There are usually several common methods for assembling the backrest of an office chair, and you can choose the appropriate one based on the specific chair structure:

Method 1: Locking the Backrest to the Seat Cushion Bracket

First, precisely align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the installation positions on the armrests of the seat cushion on both sides. Slowly insert them to ensure they are fully inserted without any deviation. Next, use two C-screws to perform a preliminary fixation from the bottom of the armrest brackets. This step is to establish an initial connection between the backrest and the seat cushion, preventing the backrest from shifting during subsequent operations. Then, carefully align the installation holes on the back of the backrest with those on the seat cushion bracket. This step requires patience and care because the degree of alignment of the installation holes directly affects the effectiveness of the subsequent fixation. After alignment, use two wrenches to lock the backrest and the seat cushion bracket together with D-screws. Using two wrenches ensures that when tightening the screws, one wrench holds the screw in place while the other rotates it. This guarantees that the screws are tightened properly without issues like screw slippage, ensuring a firm connection between the backrest and the seat cushion bracket.

Method 2: Fixing the Backrest Bracket to the Backrest Mesh

First, install the backrest bracket, which serves as the supporting structure for the entire backrest. Ensure that the bracket is installed steadily and firmly. After installing the backrest bracket, place the backrest mesh in the appropriate position so that it fits snugly against the backrest bracket. Then, use several screws to fix the backrest mesh to the backrest bracket. When tightening the screws, pay attention to applying an appropriate amount of force. Do not overtighten to avoid screw slippage, and do not under-tighten to prevent the backrest mesh from being insecurely fixed.

Method 3: Fixing with a Specific Screw Combination

For some office chairs with special structures, use medium-sized screws under the armrest backrest. First, screw the medium-sized screws halfway and do not fully tighten them. This leaves some room for adjustment. Next, pass a long screw through the crossbar and screw it upwards into the eye position on the seat surface. While tightening the long screw, pay attention to observing whether the position of the backrest is appropriate. If there is any deviation, you can adjust it in a timely manner. After the position is adjusted correctly, tighten all the screws to ensure that the backrest is firmly installed.
