Office Chair Assembly and Packaging
Admin October 11, 2026
Office chair assembly and packaging should follow standardized procedures to ensure transportation safety while considering cost-effectiveness. The specific steps and precautions are as follows:

I. Basic Preparation and Tool Configuration
- Material Preparation: Select corrugated cardboard boxes that are 5-10cm larger than the chair's expanded dimensions to accommodate all components. Prepare bubble wrap, foam peanuts, stretch wrap for shock absorption and scratch prevention, foam blocks for filling gaps, tape, and markers for sealing and labeling boxes, and wrenches/screwdrivers for disassembling screws.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the chair's surface with a dry cloth to remove dust and stains, preventing them from spreading or scratching the surface during transportation.
II. Component Disassembly and Classification Management
- Detachable Component Disassembly: Unscrew the connecting screws between the backrest and seat cushion, armrest and seat cushion, and separate the backrest, armrests, gas lift, base, and wheels (if detachable). If the wheels are fixed and cannot be removed, wrap them separately with bubble wrap for protection.
- Small Component Management: Sort small parts like screws and wrenches into small plastic bags or boxes, labeling their purposes (e.g., "Backrest screws ร4") to prevent loss or confusion.
III. Targeted Protection for Components
- Wooden/Leather Components: Wrap them in 2-3 layers of foam peanuts, focusing on protecting the edges and corners (e.g., armrest tips, backrest corners), then secure them with stretch wrap to prevent scratches or moisture damage.
- Metal Components: Wrap the gas lift, base, etc., in 1-2 layers of bubble wrap to prevent the paint from being scratched by other components.
- Fragile Components: If the chair contains glass panels or decorative pieces, wrap their edges and corners with foam blocks, cover them with an outer layer of bubble wrap, and label them as "Fragile".
IV. Packing and Fixing Techniques
- Bottom Cushioning: Line the bottom of the box with 2-3 layers of bubble wrap or foam boards to absorb transportation shocks.
- Main Body Placement: Place the largest component (e.g., seat cushion) in the center, filling the surrounding gaps with foam blocks to prevent movement.
- Stacking Order: Place the backrest, armrests, etc., in sequence, tucking small part bags into the gaps, and cover the top with another layer of bubble wrap.
- Box Sealing and Reinforcement: Seal the box with tape horizontally and vertically, forming a "cross" reinforcement to ensure the box lid fits tightly.
V. Labeling and Transportation Optimization
- Box Labeling: Use a marker to label the sides with "Furniture", "Fragile", "This Side Up", and "Do Not Crush", indicating the number of parts (e.g., "Contains 8 screws"). If logistics transportation is required, weigh and record the weight for quoting purposes.
- Cost-Effectiveness: For packaging a standard 20-person office, choosing an assembly service provider can save 3000-7000 yuan (a 10%-15% reduction) due to bulk purchase discounts, logistics consolidation, and efficient installation. Additionally, assembly packaging ensures style consistency, size compatibility, unified after-sales service, and time cost savings.
Tip: If the chair has a complex structure or high value, it is recommended to take photos or videos before and after disassembly for after-sales rights protection or reference during reassembly.
