Office Chair Assembly
Admin October 09, 2026
The assembly (installation) of office chairs should be carried out according to standardized steps, as there are differences among various design models. Here are common assembly methods:

I. Basic Structure Assembly
- Connecting Chair Wheels to the Five-Star Base: Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes at the bottom of the five-star base, ensuring that the wheels are fully embedded and free from looseness. After flipping the five-star base, vertically align the thicker end of the gas lift with the center hole of the five-star base and gently press it down until it is fully seated.
- Modular Adjustment: If the chair features an electric push rod design, first adjust the height of the support plate to an appropriate position (e.g., parallel to the seat cushion's mating surface), and then secure the connecting bolts between the push rod and the five-star base to ensure the stability of component alignment.
II. Connecting the Seat Cushion to the Base
- Positioning the Base: Place the base on the bottom of the seat cushion, paying attention to distinguishing the front and back directions (usually, the base has markings or grooves corresponding to the seat cushion structure). After aligning the screw holes, sequentially insert four B screws, first tightening each one 3-4 turns for pre-tightening, and then fully securing them in a diagonal sequence to prevent the base from tilting.
- Modular Fixation: For modular chairs, connect the seat cushion module to the bottom of the armrest module using bolts, ensuring that the bolts penetrate the fixing holes of both components and are tightened.
III. Assembling the Backrest to the Seat Cushion
- Inserting the Backrest: Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the installation slots on the seat cushion armrests and vertically insert them until the bottom catches are fully embedded.
- Screw Fixation: First, use two C screws to secure the bottom of the backrest from the bottom of the armrest bracket upwards, and then use a D screw to lock the backrest and the seat cushion bracket with a wrench (the locking screws should be tightened crosswise to prevent structural misalignment).
- Modular Connection: If the backrest is divided into multiple modules (e.g., upper, left, and right modules), they need to be joined using mortise-and-tenon joints or secured with bolts. When joining, pay attention to aligning the slots or marking lines.
IV. Installing the Armrests and Headrest
- Installing the Armrests: Press the button below the armrest surface and vertically insert the armrest into the bracket hole. A 'click' sound indicates that it is properly installed.
- Securing the Headrest: Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest and tighten it with an E screw through the fixing clip; for modular chairs, the headrest module may be directly fixed to the upper end of the back frame module using bolts or clips.
V. Pre-assembly and Convenient Design Optimization
- Simplifying the Process: Some chairs (e.g., Xiaomuwu Fit-CC) have pre-assembled large components (such as the five-star base + gas lift, backrest + seat cushion modules), and users only need to connect the independent modules. With all the necessary tools, it can be completed in about 40 minutes.
- Auxiliary Tools: The support plate structure of modular chairs can hold components (such as the backrest module), reducing the need for manual support and improving assembly efficiency.
Precautions:
- Screws should be tightened in stages to avoid one-time locking that may cause component deformation.
- For modular chairs, adjust the position of the support plate or push plate according to the component size to ensure accurate alignment.
- Before installation, check the accessory list (such as the number of wheels, gas lift specifications, screw types). If any accessories are missing, contact after-sales service promptly.
- There are significant structural differences among chairs from different brands. Refer to the instruction manual or video tutorial for the specific model first to avoid misoperation.
