Office Chair Assembly

Admin October 08, 2026

The assembly of an office chair generally includes the following steps:

  1. Install the wheels: Insert the five casters one by one into the five-star base, ensuring that each caster is properly installed and secure. This is the foundational step for office chair assembly, providing stable support for subsequent installations.

  2. Install the gas lift: There are two common methods. One is to insert the lifting gas cylinder into the tray, aligning the holes to ensure the gas cylinder can move up and down normally. Another approach is to first insert the gas cylinder and then combine it with other components such as the tray later. The gas cylinder is a crucial part for the height adjustment function of the office chair, and attention should be paid to its direction and position during installation.

  3. Install the base and seat plate: Attach the base to the underside of the seat plate, using four long screws to secure the base, ensuring a firm connection between the base and the seat plate. There is also mention of fixing the dovetail tray to the bottom of the chair, which ensures the stability and load-bearing capacity of the seat plate.

  4. Install the backrest and seat: Screw the angle brackets connecting the backrest and the seat, joining the backrest and the seat plate together to form a complete seat structure. Pay attention to the tightness of the screws during this step to avoid affecting usage due to being too loose or too tight.

  5. Install the armrests: Use four M625mm screws to connect the armrests to the backrest, then use two M620mm screws with washers to install the upper and lower parts of the armrests, and finally install the decorative covers. The installation of armrests not only increases the comfort of the office chair but also enhances its overall aesthetics.

  6. Install the tray: Use four M6*20mm screws to install the tray, which is usually used to support the seat plate and adjust the seat functions. Ensure accurate positioning and a firm connection during installation.

  7. Install the headrest: Use two M6*30mm screws to install the headrest, providing neck support for the user and improving comfort during use.

Assembly tips: Before assembly, classify and organize all the components for easy access. Do not tighten the screws right away; wait until all the components are installed, and then tighten them one by one to 100% to ensure the installation accuracy between the components. If there are four screws, first install the two diagonal ones to make the installation more stable and accurate.
