Assembly of Office Chair

Admin October 10, 2026

The steps for assembling an office chair are as follows:

Step 1: Install the Casters and Chair Base Install each caster into the corresponding hole on the chair base, ensuring that each caster is firmly attached. After installation, insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the chair base, ensuring that the gas lift is tightly connected to the base and perpendicular to the ground. This step provides a stable foundation for subsequent assembly.

Step 2: Secure the Seat Plate to the Seat Place the seat plate at the bottom of the seat, ensuring that the orientation of the seat plate matches the design of the seat. After aligning the screw holes of the seat plate and the seat, use screws for initial fixation: screw each screw in by 3-4 turns to ensure that all screws are in the holes and the seat plate is in the correct position, then tighten the screws one by one to prevent the seat plate from tilting or the seat from deforming due to unilateral force.

Step 3: Connect the Backrest to the Seat After the seat is installed, proceed with the assembly of the backrest. First, use 2 screws to fix the bottom of the backrest from the bottom of the armrest bracket, ensuring that the backrest is initially connected to the armrest bracket. Then, align the installation holes on the back of the backrest with those on the seat cushion bracket. Use two wrenches for operation: one wrench to hold the screw and the other to rotate the nut, firmly connecting the backrest to the seat cushion bracket through a "double-locking" method. Pay attention to evenly tightening the screws in this step to prevent the backrest from loosening or tilting.

Step 4: Install the Seat Assembly onto the Gas Lift Vertically insert the entire seat assembly, which includes the seat, backrest, and armrests, onto the top of the gas lift, ensuring that the connection between the seat assembly and the gas lift is completely flush and free of wobbling. Keep the seat assembly balanced in this step to prevent damage to the gas lift or a decrease in the chair's stability due to tilting.

Step 5: Install the Armrests and Headrest

  • Armrest Installation: Press the button below the armrest surface and insert the left and right armrests into the corresponding holes on the armrest brackets respectively. A "click" sound indicates that the installation is in place.
  • Headrest Installation: Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest and press the installation area of the headrest to make it fit tightly with the backrest. Thread a screw through the headrest fixing clip, initially screw it in by 3-4 turns, and then tighten the screws one by one to ensure that the headrest is stable and the angle can be adjusted (if the design allows).

Precautions:

  1. Before assembly, check that all accessories are complete to avoid interruption of the process due to missing parts.
  2. Tighten the screws in stages. First, perform initial fixation and then fully tighten them to prevent parts from shifting.
  3. Keep the gas lift vertical during installation to avoid side force that may cause air leakage or damage.
  4. If the chair design includes corner brackets (metal parts connecting the backrest and the seat), install and tighten the corner bracket screws simultaneously in Step 3 to enhance structural stability.
