Office Chair Arrow

Admin October 08, 2026

The arrows on office chairs are usually used to indicate adjustment directions. Arrows in different directions correspond to different adjustment functions, as detailed below:

Arrow Pointing Upwards

When an upward-pointing arrow appears on an office chair, it means lifting the relevant component in the upward direction for corresponding adjustments. For example, if there is an upward-pointing arrow beneath the seat cushion or at the backrest adjustment area of some office chairs, it typically means lifting the adjustment lever of the seat cushion or backrest to change the height of the seat cushion or the angle of the backrest. This design allows users to easily adjust the seat cushion to a suitable height according to their own height and sitting habits, enabling their feet to rest flat on the ground naturally and maintain a comfortable sitting posture. At the same time, it also allows the backrest to be adjusted to an appropriate angle, providing good support for the back and reducing fatigue caused by prolonged sitting.

Arrow Pointing in the Direction of Pushing (Inserting)/Tilting (Lifting)

These arrow markings are mainly used to indicate locking and releasing functions. When the arrow points in the direction of pushing (inserting), it means that pushing (inserting) the relevant component in the direction of the arrow will achieve locking. For instance, when adjusting the height of the armrests of an office chair, if such an arrow marking is seen, pushing the armrests into the appropriate position along the direction of the arrow will lock the armrests at that height, preventing them from wobbling randomly. When the arrow points in the direction of tilting (lifting), it indicates that tilting (lifting) the component in the direction of the arrow will release the locked state. For example, when needing to adjust the height of the armrests again, tilting the armrests in the direction of the arrow will unlock them, and then they can be readjusted to the desired height.

Arrow Direction When Adjusting the Height of an Ergonomic Chair

When adjusting the height of an ergonomic chair, sit on the chair in a free state and pull the control lever in the direction of the arrow. Generally, this arrow direction is downwards. After sitting on the chair, the user pulls the control lever marked with an arrow downwards with their hand, and the seat cushion of the ergonomic chair will rise or fall under the action of the pneumatic rod. The user can adjust the seat cushion to a suitable height according to their own needs to meet different usage scenarios and personal comfort requirements.
