Office Chair Arrival Packaging

Admin October 11, 2026

The packaging situation of office chairs upon arrival is as follows:

Packaging Materials and Tools The core protective materials include bubble wrap, stretch wrap/stretch film, wrapping paper/old newspapers, cardboard boxes (the sizes vary depending on the chair type: high-end executive chairs commonly use 120cmร—80cmร—40cm, basic swivel chairs are about 110cmร—70cmร—30cm, and gaming chairs are often 10-15cm thicker), as well as dust covers or disposable tablecloths. The fastening tools include wide tape, accessory bags/sealed plastic bags, markers, and label paper; if disassembly is required, a rubber mallet is also needed. Some manufacturers adopt a new type of packaging with air columns + shrink film, which can reduce the transportation volume by 20%, or offer a service of deducting freight charges (10-30 yuan) by trading in old packaging. Environmentally friendly packaging solutions such as six-sided suspended buffer boxes and corrugated paper drawer boxes are also gradually becoming popular.

Packaging Methods

  1. Packaging without Disassembly: This is suitable for situations where the moving passage is wide, the transportation vehicle has sufficient space, the chair has a simple structure, or disassembly is complex. Wrap the entire chair with multiple layers of bubble wrap and stretch wrap directly, ensuring that all vulnerable parts (such as armrests, wheels, and adjustment levers) are covered, and then secure it with wide tape.
  2. Packaging after Disassembly: This is aimed at scenarios where the moving space is limited, the chair has a high value or a precise structure, and long-distance transportation or long-term storage is required. Disassemble the chair in the order of "from the outside in, from the top down, and in reverse assembly order", and place the parts in cardboard boxes by category. Small parts (such as screws and washers) should be sealed in accessory bags and labeled with their uses. Wrap the main body of the chair with bubble wrap separately and then place it in a cardboard box to avoid mixing it with the parts.

Packaging Specifications There is no unified national standard for office chair packaging. The sizes of packaging boxes for mainstream e-commerce models are mostly within the range of 80-120cm (length) ร— 60-80cm (width) ร— 20-40cm (height). Products on the market generally adopt a foldable or split design for easy transportation and storage. High-end models may add internal buffer structures (such as foam boards and cardboard partitions) to improve shock resistance.

Special Designs New packaging technologies reduce volume by optimizing the structure, such as using air columns instead of traditional fillers and shrink film to fix the overall shape. Environmentally friendly solutions reduce waste generation through recyclable materials (such as corrugated paper) and modular designs while maintaining protective performance. Some brands also offer customized packaging services, adjusting materials and structures according to the chair size and transportation requirements.
