Office Chair Arrangement
The arrangement of office chairs should be tailored to the specific use scenario, functional requirements, and spatial characteristics. Optimization can be achieved through the following four aspects:

1. Personal Workstation Optimization: Balancing Efficiency and Health
The core of a personal workstation is to meet the needs of long-term office work and short breaks. Prioritize office chairs with a reclining function. During lunch breaks, the chair back can be reclined to 25-30 degrees, paired with an oil-based memory foam pillow to support both sides of the neck and the back of the head. The lumbar support should precisely match the natural curve of the lumbar spine to avoid a hollow waist. Cover your legs with a blanket and wear an eye mask and earplugs to create a semi-reclined rest environment and reduce fatigue accumulation. Additionally, there should be a 2-3 finger gap between the front edge of the seat cushion and the back of the knees to avoid compressing blood vessels and nerves and affecting blood circulation.
2. Team Collaboration Scenarios: Enhancing Communication Efficiency
In modular employee work areas, office chairs should be paired with scientifically divided cubicle layouts. It is recommended to adopt a four- or six-person team work island format, reducing unnecessary movement among members through circular or linear arrangements. At the same time, integrate cable management systems (such as under-desk cable trays) and power outlets (at least two per workstation) to avoid cable clutter interfering with work. The height of the partitions is recommended to be controlled between 30-40 cm, which can protect personal privacy without obstructing visual communication among team members, maintaining an open and collaborative atmosphere.
3. Comfort Configuration: Adapting to Individual Differences
The adjustment functions of office chairs directly affect the user experience. They must have seat depth adjustment, lumbar support up-and-down adjustment, and armrest height adjustment functions: seat depth adjustment can accommodate users with different leg lengths, ensuring even pressure on the buttocks and thighs; the lumbar support should be able to move up and down to match the position of the lumbar spine; the height of the armrests should be level with the desktop to avoid arm suspension or shoulder shrugging. When test-sitting, pay special attention to the support feeling of the buttocks and thighs. The front edge of the seat cushion should not compress the back of the knees, as this can easily lead to numbness. When the budget allows, prioritize mesh chair backs, which have better breathability than leather or sponge materials and are suitable for long-term use.
4. Spatial Adaptation Details: Balancing Function and Aesthetics
In partitioned workstation layouts, office chairs should be designed in coordination with the desktop system. The desktop should be equipped with an independent keyboard tray and a host position to avoid the keyboard occupying desktop space and causing cramped operation; the height of the partitions should be strictly controlled between 30-40 cm. Too high will obstruct communication, and too low will lack privacy. Additionally, at least two cable holes should be reserved under the desktop, one for power cables and one for data cables. The holes should be close to the edge of the workstation for easy device connection and to reduce cable exposure, enhancing overall cleanliness.
