Office Chair Armrest Assembly and Disassembly

Admin October 12, 2026

The assembly and disassembly of office chair armrests should be carried out step by step according to the chair's structure. When assembling, install the armrests last, and when disassembling, first separate the backrest and then loosen the screws to remove the armrests.

Assembly Steps

  1. Basic Assembly: Office chair assembly usually proceeds from the bottom up. First, assemble the chair legs and casters, ensuring that the casters can rotate flexibly and are firmly installed. Then, insert the gas lift into the center hole of the chair legs. The gas lift is a key component for adjusting the chair's height, so make sure it is installed vertically. Next, install the base under the seat. The base connects the gas lift and the seat, providing support and adjustment functions. When installing, align the screw holes and secure them with screws.
  2. Backrest Installation: Assemble the backrest and the seat using connectors. The connection methods may vary for different chairs, with some using screws and others using snap-fit connections. Follow the instructions to ensure the backrest is firmly installed.
  3. Armrest Installation: After completing the installation of the above components, install the armrests last. Observe the connection points between the armrests and the seat or backrest, which are usually secured with screws. Align the armrests with the connection holes and tighten the screws with a screwdriver. Make sure the screws are tightened properly to prevent the armrests from loosening. Pay attention to the direction and position of the armrests during installation to ensure comfortable use after installation.

Disassembly Steps

  1. Backrest Separation: Follow the reverse order of assembly. First, loosen the screws or snap-fit connections between the backrest and the seat, and separate the backrest from the seat. If the backrest is directly connected to the armrests, be careful not to damage the connection components of the armrests and backrest when separating the backrest.
  2. Armrest Disassembly: Observe the connection method between the armrests and the seat or backrest, and locate the screws securing the armrests. Use an appropriate screwdriver to loosen the screws, usually by rotating them counterclockwise. For parts that are difficult to disassemble, such as when the screws are rusty or tightly connected, you can apply an appropriate amount of lubricant. Once the screws are loosened, remove them. After removing the screws, carefully separate the armrests from the chair to avoid scratching the chair's surface.
