Office Chair Armrest Adhesion

Admin October 17, 2026

Appropriate methods for office chair armrest adhesion can be selected based on different damage situations, as follows:

Armrest peeling

When the armrest of an office chair shows signs of peeling, leather repair patches can be used for adhesion and repair. Leather repair patches have a genuine leather texture, adhere well to the armrest surface, and are less likely to curl up after adhesion. The usage method is relatively simple, requiring no additional glue. Simply cover the peeling area with the leather repair patch, trim and adjust it according to its edges to ensure a tight fit. This method is suitable for small areas of peeling, effectively improving the appearance of the armrest and extending its service life.

Loose armrest

If the armrest of an office chair is only slightly loose, a glue suitable for metal or plastic materials can be chosen for adhesion and fixation. Among them, PVC glue is a commonly used option. It is easy to operate, has high bonding strength, and good sealing performance, suitable for mutual adhesion and cross-adhesion of various materials such as PVC, PE, and PP. Before using PVC glue, it is necessary to clean the connection area to remove dust, oil, and other impurities to ensure that the glue can fully exert its bonding effect. After cleaning, apply the glue evenly to the connection area, ensuring that the application is moderate to avoid excessive glue overflow. Then, align the armrest with its position and gently press it for a while to allow the glue to fully contact and bond. Do not shake the armrest vigorously before the glue is completely dry and cured to avoid affecting the bonding effect. After the glue is completely dry and cured, the armrest will be firmly restored.

Broken armrest

When the armrest of an office chair is broken, 502 or 101 glue can be used for self-adhesion and repair. These two types of glue have the characteristic of rapid adhesion and can bond the broken armrest together in a short time. When using, first clean the broken area to remove impurities and burrs, then apply the glue to the broken surface, quickly align the two parts and press firmly, holding for a while until the glue is initially cured. However, the bonding strength of 502 and 101 glue is relatively limited. For armrests that are subject to greater force, they may not provide sufficient support. In this case, it is recommended to seek the help of professional repair personnel or consider replacing the armrest with a new one.
