Office Chair Anti-Vibration
Anti-vibration of office chairs can be achieved through methods such as using EVA pads, solving squeaking problems, and locking the wheels when using massage pads.

Using EVA Pads
EVA pads are made of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer as the core material, with EVA resin as the main body. They are closed-cell foam materials filled with independent bubbles inside, which have high resilience and can quickly return to their original shape after being compressed. Their anti-vibration principle is to absorb vibration energy through the compression and release of the bubbles. When using them, first clean the feet or contact surface of the office chair to remove dust and oil stains, then attach the adhesive side of the pad to the bottom of the office chair and press for 3 - 5 seconds to fix it. EVA pads have a wide range of applications. When used on the feet of office chairs, they can not only prevent sliding and scratching the floor but also reduce vibration transmission. A 2-millimeter-thick pad can reduce vibration transmission by about 60%.
Solving Squeaking Problems
Squeaking in office chairs can be caused by various reasons, such as worn-out accessories, uneven floors, long-term use, and lack of lubrication in the seats. These problems can also affect the anti-vibration effect. To address these issues, the following measures can be taken:
- Tightening Accessories: Check if the screws on the seat and backrest are loose. Tighten the loose screws and regularly inspect key parts to ensure they are firmly installed.
- Leveling the Floor: If the floor is uneven, use pads or other tools to adjust the height of the office chair feet so that the office chair is placed stably on the floor.
- Replacing Aged Accessories: If there are cracks or deformations on the seat or backrest, replace the accessories in a timely manner. Choosing high-quality materials can extend their service life.
- Adding Lubricating Oil: Add lubricating oil to the key friction parts of the office chair to reduce the friction between accessories, minimize squeaking sounds, and also help improve the anti-vibration performance.
Locking the Wheels When Using Massage Pads
If you want to place a massage pad on an office chair with casters, it is recommended to lock the wheels during use. This can prevent the office chair from shifting due to the vibrations generated during the massage process, thereby reducing the impact of vibrations to a certain extent.
