Office Chair Anti-Slip

Admin October 11, 2026

There are multiple ways to achieve anti-slip for office chairs, as detailed below:

I. Using Professional Accessories to Fix Office Chairs with Casters

  1. Chair Fixed Feet: Directly replace the original casters. After installation, the chair cannot move at all, providing a thorough fixing effect, but sacrificing mobility convenience. This is suitable for scenarios where extremely high stability is required and the chair does not need to be moved.
  2. Wheels with Brakes or Gravity Self-Locking Mechanism:
    • Wheels with brakes need to be manually locked and unlocked one by one, offering flexible operation but requiring frequent actions;
    • Gravity self-locking wheels adopt a gravity-triggered mechanism. When a person sits on the chair, the wheels unlock and can roll; when the person leaves, they automatically lock, balancing convenience and stability. This is suitable for scenarios where temporary fixing of the chair is needed.
  3. Swivel Chair Wheel Covers/Fixers: These are accessories that directly clamp onto existing rollers. They are easy to install without tools, effectively locking the wheels to prevent sliding and noise, while also protecting the floor from scratches. This is suitable for temporary or low-cost needs.

II. Low-Cost Techniques to Increase Friction

  1. Paper-Stuffing Method: Fold A4 paper and stuff it into the wheels of the office chair. This can significantly increase rolling resistance, making the chair difficult to slide, but it cannot completely fix it. This is suitable for temporary emergency use.
  2. Carpet-Laying Method: Lay a rough carpet in the area where the chair moves. By increasing ground friction, this restricts sliding. It is low-cost and easy to operate, but may affect aesthetics or cleaning convenience.

III. Installing Anti-Slip Foot Pads for Fixed-Leg Chairs

  1. Material Selection: Silicone material is soft and offers excellent anti-slip and cushioning effects; EVA pads have good elasticity; felt pads are lightweight and quiet. Self-adhesive designs are easy to install, but some products may have an odor initially, requiring ventilation.
  2. Fit and Installation: Choose foot pads with an appropriate inner diameter based on the shape of the chair legs (round or square). Ensure that all four foot pads completely wrap around the bottom of the chair legs and are at the same height during installation to avoid instability caused by a shifted center of gravity.

IV. Replacing Wheels with Locking Functions

  1. Wheels with Brake Locking Function: With a diameter of 60 millimeters, they have a silent cover. The wheels are wrapped with soft PU to protect solid wood floors. To lock, simply pull down; to move, pull up to unlock, offering high stability.
  2. Gravity Wheels: With a diameter of 60mm, they increase lateral resistance of the wheels through an internal mechanism triggered by gravity. Moving them requires effort but produces little noise, suitable for scenarios requiring slight resistance.
  3. Bearings with Hollowed-Out Wheels: These have a hollow design in the middle with bearings inside, offering good texture and greater weight. The outer layer is wrapped with soft PU. To lock, press a button. They are available in black and gray.
  4. Large-Size Wheels: With a 65mm specification, they are suitable for chairs with larger original wheels. They can be locked by pulling sideways and are available in white and black, with white being more dirt-resistant.

V. Using Fixed Foot Pads

Pull out the original components and insert the fixed foot pads. This is suitable for elderly users or those who need to fix the chair (such as for children). It makes it difficult for children to move the chair, enhancing safety.
