Office Chair Anti-Pinch

Admin October 12, 2026

Office chair anti-pinch can be achieved through methods such as modifying protective devices, using anti-pinch mechanism patent technology, and adopting seat detection solutions.

Modifying Protective Devices

This is a relatively common and cost-effective anti-pinch method. For the metal chair legs and armrest edges of office chairs, thickened foam bumper strips can be used for wrapping. Since the chair legs and armrest edges are mostly angular in shape, T-shaped or L-shaped foam bumper strips are more suitable for covering these angular parts, effectively cushioning collisions and reducing the risk of pinch injuries caused by accidental contact. In addition, the rotating base and the connection point of the pneumatic rod on office chairs are also areas prone to finger pinching. These can be wrapped with mesh fabric sleeves. Mesh fabric sleeves not only have good breathability but also form a protective barrier between the human body and the connection point, preventing fingers and other parts from being pinched.

Using Anti-Pinch Mechanism Patent Technology

Some advanced office chairs employ anti-pinch mechanism patent technology. This technology typically involves setting a stopper on the motor-driven connecting rod. When the footrest of the office chair needs to extend, the motor drives the connecting rod to move, and the stopper pushes the telescopic connecting rod mechanism to unfold the footrest. When retracting the footrest, it relies on its own gravity to retract, and at this time, the stopper will again abut and fix the footrest. In this way, it avoids the motor continuously driving the footrest movement, thus eliminating the pinch hazard caused by footrest movement and greatly improving the safety of office chair use.

Adopting Seat Detection Solutions

Some high-end office chairs are equipped with seat detection mechanisms to prevent finger pinching. For example, when the seat is being folded or moved, the detection system will monitor the surrounding environment in real-time. If it detects that a human body part or other object is in a position where it may be pinched, the seat will immediately stop the corresponding action to avoid pinching people. This detection solution usually relies on advanced sensor technology, which can quickly and accurately perceive the surrounding situation and provide reliable safety protection for users.
