Office Chair Anti-Features Design

Admin October 09, 2026

The anti-related features or designs of office chairs mainly include anti-explosion, anti-static, anti-slip, and anti-cat scratch aspects, as detailed below:

Anti-explosion Design: The gas spring of an office chair is a core component for its height adjustment function. However, if the gas spring fails, such as an abnormal increase in internal pressure, it may cause parts to fly off or the seat to suddenly drop, resulting in serious injury to the user. To address this issue, office chairs are equipped with anti-explosion chassis. This chassis uses thickened steel plates to enhance the overall structural strength and stability; by optimizing the stress distribution of the structure, it allows the chassis to evenly disperse forces when under pressure, preventing local stress concentration that could lead to rupture; it integrates limit devices to restrict the travel range of the gas spring, preventing excessive extension or compression; and the ribbed structure further improves the chassis's impact resistance. These designs work together to effectively prevent potential dangers caused by gas spring failures, ensuring the safety of the user.

Anti-static Function: In certain special environments, such as laboratories and clean rooms, the accumulation of static electricity can damage precision equipment and even lead to fires or explosions, as well as causing discomfort or injury to humans. Therefore, some office chairs use anti-static materials, such as anti-static leather, PU foam, and woven fabrics. These materials have good electrical conductivity, allowing them to promptly conduct away static electricity from the human body or objects, preventing static buildup and thus protecting equipment and human safety.

Anti-slip Design: During use, office leather chairs may experience slipping due to their smooth surfaces, which not only affects the user experience but may also cause the user to fall and get injured. To solve this problem, some anti-slip measures can be taken. For example, placing anti-slip mats under the chair to increase friction between the chair and the ground; adjusting the chair wheels to choose those with anti-slip functions or modifying existing chair wheels to make them more stable and less prone to slipping during movement.

Anti-cat Scratch Design: For households or offices with pets, the scratching behavior of pets can damage the surface of office chairs, affecting their appearance and lifespan. Some office chairs use anti-cat scratch leather materials, which have high wear resistance and scratch resistance, effectively resisting pet scratches and protecting the chair surface from damage.
