Office Chair and Wall Scratches

Admin October 16, 2026

For scratches on office chairs and walls, appropriate repair methods should be selected based on the material and the extent of the damage, as detailed below:

Office Chair Repair Methods

  1. Solid Wood Material

    • Light-colored Solid Wood: If the scratch is shallow, apply wax powder particles to the scratched area. Heat the wax (e.g., using an iron with a cloth in between) to melt it and fill the gaps. After cooling, wipe off the excess wax with a soft cloth.
    • Dark-colored Solid Wood: Rub the flesh of walnuts, hickory nuts, or Brazil nuts along the scratch repeatedly. The natural oils in the nut flesh can darken the scratch, blending it with the surrounding wood grain.
    • Rosewood Furniture: If the damage does not reach deep into the wood, use a furniture repair crayon to fill the scratch, then apply a thin layer of clear nail polish to protect the surface. If the wood layer is damaged, mix a pigment of the same color with varnish and use it for repair.
    • Walnut Furniture: Wipe the scratch with lemon juice. The acidic substance can slightly etch the surface, and then wipe it dry with a soft cloth soaked in hot water to fade the shallow scratch.
    • General Methods: For minor abrasions, apply a crayon or pigment of the same color as the furniture and then coat it with clear nail polish to fix it. For heat marks (e.g., burns), wipe them with kerosene, alcohol, or strong tea water.
  2. Painted Surface Material

    • Minor Abrasions: Repair the scratch with a color pen of the same color as the painted surface, then apply colorless transparent nail polish for protection.
    • Crack Treatment: For clear oil ordinary paint, sand the cracked area and then apply paint of the same color. For water-based paint, use special repair wax for filling. For mixed oil painted surfaces, minor cracks can be directly sanded and painted, while severe cracks require removing the cracked part, applying atomic ash, and then painting after drying.

Wall Repair Methods

  1. Latex Paint Walls

    • Minor Scrapes: Clean the scratched area with a damp cloth. After it dries, repair it with latex paint of the same color, ensuring even application.
    • Severe Damage: Remove the damaged area and the loose paint layers around it, reapply putty and sand it smooth, and finally apply two coats of latex paint.
  2. Wallpaper Walls

    • Minor Scrapes: Gently wipe the scratch with an eraser, avoiding excessive force that could damage the wallpaper.
    • Damage: Cut out a suitable shape from the remaining wallpaper of the same pattern, apply wallpaper adhesive, and paste it on the damaged area. Use a scraper to remove air bubbles and wipe off the excess adhesive.
  3. Tile Walls

    • Minor Scratches: Wipe the scratch with a neutral cleaner to remove surface dirt.
    • Deep Scratches: Use a special tile repair agent, mix the color according to the instructions, fill the scratch, and sand it smooth after drying.

Precautions: Clean the damaged area before repair to ensure it is free of dust or oil. Wear gloves during operation to avoid direct contact with chemical reagents. If the damage is severe or the material cannot be determined, it is advisable to contact professional repair personnel for handling.
