Office Chair and Stool Installation

Admin October 12, 2026

The installation steps for office chairs and stools generally follow a bottom-up principle, with the specific process as follows:

  1. Install Casters and Chair Base
Align each of the five casters with the mounting holes on the chair base (five-pronged). Press vertically or tap gently until fully embedded, ensuring tight contact between each caster and the base to prevent looseness. Some models may require screws to secure the casters; refer to the instructions to confirm if additional tools are needed.

  2. Insert the Gas Lift
Insert the gas lift (gas spring) vertically into the center hole of the chair base, ensuring full contact between the lift and the base. Note: The gas lift must remain upright to avoid instability during installation or damage to its internal structure.

  3. Secure the Seat Plate and Seat
Align the seat plate (which includes height adjustment and rotation functions) with the mounting holes on the underside of the seat, and secure it with screws (e.g., M6*25mm). Some models require four long screws; tighten them evenly to prevent the seat plate from shifting. Key Point: Ensure the screw specifications strictly match the model requirements to avoid structural looseness from incorrect use.

  4. Attach the Backrest to the Seat
Fix the backrest to the seat using corner brackets (metal connectors) or screws. If using corner brackets, align the holes and secure them with screws (e.g., M6*20mm); if connecting directly with screws, note the orientation of the black fabric on the backrest (some models require it to face inward or outward). Tip: Before installation, compare the alignment marks on the backrest and seat to ensure proper positioning.

  5. Install Armrests and Headrest

    • Armrests: Align the armrests with the mounting holes on both sides of the seat and secure them with screws (e.g., M6*20mm). Some models require washers to distribute pressure, and finish by installing decorative caps to cover the screw holes.
    • Headrest: Align the headrest bracket with the holes at the top of the backrest, secure it with two screws (e.g., M6*30mm), and adjust the headrest angle to a comfortable position.
  6. Final Assembly
Insert the seat assembly (including the secured seat plate) vertically into the top of the gas lift until you hear a โ€œclickโ€ or feel it lock into place. Note: Keep the seat balanced during insertion to avoid damaging the gas lift.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check that all components are present and that the screw specifications match the model requirements (e.g., M620mm for models 205/206, M625mm for Sihoo ergonomic chairs).
  • Control the force applied in some steps (e.g., gently tapping the caster covers, evenly tightening screws) to avoid deforming components.
  • If resistance is encountered during installation, stop and check that the holes are aligned; do not force assembly.
  • Different brands or models (e.g., Sihoo, 205/206) may have slight variations; always refer to the product manual first.
