Office Chair and Stool

Admin October 11, 2026

Office chairs and stools exhibit significant differences in type, function, target users, and price, so selection should be based on specific needs.

1. Types and Design Features
Office chairs are typically designed with functionality as the core. For example, HAG office chairs are tailored for children or people of smaller stature, featuring adjustable backrests and seat heights to help correct sitting posture and even supporting fun usage modes like sitting backward to enhance interaction. Ergonomic chairs, on the other hand, focus more on health support, using curved seats to disperse pressure on the buttocks and adjustable armrests and backrest angles to fit different sitting postures, reducing lumbar and cervical fatigue over long-term use.
Stools prioritize portability and flexibility. Common types include solid wood woven square stools (with natural materials offering good breathability), household low stools (with a low height suitable for changing shoes or temporary sitting and lying), and children's stools with wheels (convenient for movement and highly safe). Some stools also incorporate creative designs, such as foldable or stackable structures, to save space.

2. Functions and Suitable Scenarios
The core function of office chairs is to support long hours of office work or study, reducing physical strain through ergonomic design, making them suitable for scenarios like offices and studies that require prolonged sitting. For instance, the lumbar support and headrest of ergonomic chairs can precisely fit the spinal curve, preventing health issues caused by long sitting.
The functions of stools are more auxiliary. For example, solid wood square stools are suitable as temporary seats paired with coffee tables, household low stools are often used in entryways or kitchens, and children's stools with wheels meet children's activity needs. Their lightweight nature makes them more advantageous in scenarios with limited space or requiring frequent movement.

3. Price and Material Differences
Office chairs have a wide price range. Basic models may cost only a few hundred yuan, while high-end ergonomic chairs, due to upgraded materials (such as breathable mesh fabric and high-density foam) and functions (such as multi-directional adjustment and synchronous tilting), can cost several thousand yuan. Brands like HAG, targeting specific user groups, usually have prices at the mid-to-high level.
Stools generally have lower prices, ranging from a few yuan for plastic stools to several hundred yuan for solid wood woven stools. The material directly affects durability and comfort. For example, solid wood stools are sturdy but heavy, plastic stools are lightweight but prone to aging, and woven stools are breathable but require regular maintenance.

4. Selection Suggestions
If long-term sitting support is needed, prioritize ergonomic chairs or functional office chairs; if only temporary or auxiliary seating is required, the diversity and cost-effectiveness of stools are more prominent. When purchasing, consider the usage scenario, budget, and material characteristics comprehensively.
