Office Chair Amortization
The amortization methods for office chairs mainly include the one-time amortization method, the 50-50 amortization method, the installment amortization method, the per-use amortization method, and the quota amortization method. The specific choice should be determined based on the value of the office chair, its service life, and the needs of the enterprise.

The one-time amortization method is suitable for office chairs with lower value and shorter service life. Under this method, the full cost is directly charged to the administrative expense account upon receipt. It is simple to operate but may cause fluctuations in current profits due to concentrated expenses. For example, office chairs with a unit price below 200 yuan and a service life of less than one year can directly adopt this method.
The 50-50 amortization method is suitable for office chairs with higher value and longer service life. Upon receipt, 50% of the cost is amortized, and the remaining 50% is amortized upon disposal. This method balances the allocation of expenses and avoids excessively high expenses in a single period, but it requires accurate estimation of the disposal time. For example, an office chair with a unit price of 1,000 yuan and a service life of three years can amortize 500 yuan each upon receipt and disposal.
The installment amortization method allocates the cost evenly over the expected service life and is suitable for office chairs with a longer service life and higher value. If the office chair is classified as a fixed asset (with a service life of 5-10 years), the straight-line method or accelerated methods (such as the double-declining balance method) can be chosen to calculate depreciation on an annual basis. For example, an office chair with a unit price of 5,000 yuan and a service life of five years can be amortized by 1,000 yuan per year using the straight-line method.
The per-use amortization method allocates the cost based on the expected number of uses and is suitable for office chairs with a relatively high number of uses and moderate value. For example, an office chair with a unit price of 800 yuan and an expected 2,000 uses can be amortized by 0.4 yuan per use, which is suitable for scenarios where expenses are accounted for based on actual usage.
The quota amortization method calculates the amortization amount based on the physical workload and budget quota and is suitable for enterprises that need precise cost control. For example, costs can be allocated based on the monthly working hours or output of office chairs, and reasonable quotas need to be formulated in conjunction with the enterprise's production plan.
Special classification treatment: If office chairs are classified as low-value consumables (e.g., with a unit price below 2,000 yuan), they can be amortized over one year; if the purchase cost is relatively high (e.g., exceeding 2,000 yuan) and the service life exceeds one year, they can be amortized over three years with a 5% residual value. Enterprises need to regularly evaluate the reasonableness of the amortization method and adjust it according to actual usage to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
