Office Chair Aging Repair
Office chair aging repair requires selecting targeted methods based on the aging part and material. Common repair solutions are as follows:

1. Wooden Part Aging Repair
If the wooden structure is broken or missing, the chair should be disassembled first. Reposition the broken wood or replace it with new wood and then reassemble it. For missing parts (such as armrests), make replacement parts by measuring the dimensions of the original parts and install them. When repairing surface defects, use wood putty to fill cracks or holes. After it dries, sand it gradually until it is flat (it is recommended to transition from 240-grit to 600-grit sandpaper). Finally, apply color according to the original color tone. If there are scratches on the wooden surface, sand it with fine sandpaper first, and then apply wood wax oil or varnish similar in color to the wood to enhance the protective effect and reduce the gloss difference.
2. Leather or Fabric Seat Cushion Repair
For edge wear or shedding, disassemble the seat cushion while keeping the core intact. Cut fabric that matches the dimensions of the core (it is recommended to choose wear-resistant canvas or thickened flannel). When sewing, leave a 1-2 cm margin and tighten the thread to ensure the fabric is tightly wrapped before re-fixing it. If the leather seat cushion is peeling, it can be repaired using the fabric covering method: cut the fabric according to the shape of the seat cushion, fix the cover with an invisible zipper or Velcro, and use double stitching to reinforce the edges during sewing to ensure a seamless connection between the cover and the front of the chair. After repair, avoid direct sunlight to prevent the fabric from fading.
3. Loose Structure or Missing Parts Repair
Check the connection points of the chair. If the screws are loose, use self-tapping screws or woodworking nails that match the specifications of the original screws to re-fix them. If the screw holes are damaged, fill the holes with a mixture of wood shavings and white glue, and then re-drill after it dries. For missing armrest screw holes, first locate the damaged area, fill the defective area with epoxy resin glue, sand it flat after curing, and then re-drill and install the screws. During the repair process, ensure that all parts are tightly connected to avoid shaking.
4. Surface Treatment and Maintenance
After the repair is completed, perform targeted maintenance according to the material: for wooden parts, apply natural wood wax oil every 3-6 months for maintenance to enhance moisture resistance and gloss. For leather seat cushions, use a special leather cleaner for cleaning once a month, and avoid using alcohol or corrosive solvents. For fabric seat cushions, it is recommended to vacuum them weekly and perform deep cleaning every six months (removable fabric can be machine-washed directly, and non-removable fabric can be wiped locally with a neutral detergent). Avoid contact with sharp objects on the chair surface during daily use to extend its service life.
