Office Chair Adjustment Lock

Admin October 11, 2026

The mechanisms of office chair adjustment locks vary depending on the type. Common adjustment lock methods include lever adjustment systems, in-place locking bases, joystick adjustments, and knob adjustments, among others.

  1. Lever Adjustment System: Commonly found in mid-range and high-end office chairs, primarily used for adjusting the recline angle. Some chairs have a locking function to fix the chair at a specific angle. To operate, gently pull up or push down the lever to release the lock; after adjusting to the desired angle, pull up or push down the lever again to lock the position. This design allows users to flexibly adjust the chair's recline angle according to their needs and secure it in a comfortable position, preventing any disruption in experience due to chair wobbling during use.

  2. In-Place Locking Base of Common Swivel Chairs: Typically operated using a handle on the right-hand side. Pushing the handle to the left locks the backrest, keeping it in a fixed position; pulling the handle to the right unlocks it, allowing the backrest to move freely. This design is simple and intuitive, enabling users to easily control the locking and unlocking of the backrest with simple push-pull actions, facilitating use in different scenarios, such as locking the backrest for focused work and unlocking it for recline and relaxation during breaks.

  3. Joystick Adjustment of Ergonomic Chairs: Taking the Daboli S20 ergonomic chair as an example, a joystick is located on the right side of the seat cushion. After pulling out the joystick, the chair can recline freely. After adjusting the chair to the desired angle, push the joystick back in to lock the position. To unlock, pull the joystick outward and apply a force to the back, and the chair will return to an upright position. The recline locking function equipped on most office chairs operates similarly; to unlock the recline, simply pull the joystick outward and apply a force to the backrest; to lock, push the joystick inward. This design incorporates ergonomic principles, allowing users to more precisely control the chair's recline angle and locking state, meeting personalized usage needs.

  4. Knob Adjustment Under Office Chairs: Pushing the knob inward locks the chair, fixing its current state; pulling the knob outward releases the lock, allowing the chair to move freely. This adjustment method is relatively concealed but simple to operate; users only need to rotate the knob as needed to achieve locking and unlocking of the chair.
