Office Chair Adjustment Diagram

Admin October 16, 2026

There are various adjustment methods for office chairs, with different components and types having their own ways of adjustment. Here is a detailed introduction for you:

Adjustment of the knob under the office chair

  • Adjusting the backrest hardness: Turning the knob clockwise will make the chair's backrest harder, providing stronger support for users. This is suitable for those who need to maintain a fixed sitting posture for a long time or have high requirements for lumbar support. Turning the knob counterclockwise will make the chair's backrest softer, offering more flexible support and allowing users some movement space on the backrest. This is suitable for people who prefer a more relaxed sitting posture.
  • Adjusting the chair height: Adjust it by rotating the rod up and down. Rotating the rod upwards will raise the chair, meeting the needs of users of different heights to match the height of the desk and keeping the legs in a natural and comfortable position. Rotating the rod downwards will lower the chair, facilitating users to enter lower spaces or work with lower-height equipment.
  • Locking and unlocking functions: Pushing the rod inwards will lock it, fixing the current state of the chair, such as the chair height and backrest angle, to prevent accidental changes in the chair's state during use. Pulling the rod outwards will make it ineffective, unlocking the chair, and at this time, various adjustment operations can be performed on the chair.

Adjustment of the backrests of different types of office chairs

  • Pneumatic rod adjustment type: There is an adjustment rod under the chair. Sit on the chair, pull the adjustment rod upwards with your hand, lean your body backward, and the backrest will tilt backward to a suitable angle along with your body movement. Then release the adjustment rod to fix the angle. To return to the original angle, pull the adjustment rod again and sit up straight, and the backrest will recover.
  • Knob adjustment type: The knob can be found on the side or bottom of the office chair. Turning the knob clockwise will gradually tighten the backrest, making the angle relatively fixed and providing stable support. Turning the knob counterclockwise will loosen the backrest, allowing you to lean back on it and adjust the backrest to the desired angle according to your own strength.
  • Handle adjustment type: Some office chairs have handles on the outside of the seat. Pulling the handle upwards will make the backrest tilt backward, meeting the needs of users for resting or changing their sitting posture. Pulling the handle downwards will make the backrest return forward and restore to the initial upright position.
