Office Chair Adjustable Armrest
The adjustable armrest of an office chair is primarily used to adjust the seat height and backrest angle, with operation methods divided into two categories: height adjustment and backrest angle adjustment.

Height adjustment function is one of the core operations of the adjustable armrest, typically achieved by lifting or lowering it. Users simply need to grasp the armrest and apply upward or downward force to trigger the lifting mechanism of the gas spring. The gas spring is filled with high-pressure gas internally, enabling smooth seat lifting and lowering through piston movement, with a typical adjustment range of 10-15 centimeters. This design allows users to quickly adjust the seat height according to desk height or personal sitting habits, ensuring natural leg bending and feet flat on the ground, thereby maintaining correct sitting posture and reducing fatigue from prolonged sitting.
Backrest angle adjustment function is accomplished by rotating or pressing the adjustable armrest. Some office chairs feature a rotating design, where users can gradually adjust the angle between the backrest and seat surface by turning the armrest clockwise or counterclockwise, achieving multi-position locking from upright to reclined positions. Other models employ a pressing design, where pressing the armrest allows the backrest to recline freely, and releasing it automatically locks the backrest at the current angle. This adjustment method enables users to quickly switch backrest support intensity in different scenarios such as working, reading, or resting, enhancing comfort.
It should be noted that the adjustable armrest does not directly control the vertical stretching of the backrest. If backrest height adjustment is required (e.g., to accommodate users of different heights), it is typically achieved through an independent adjustment lever at the base of the seat or a dedicated button on the side of the backrest. This design clearly defines the functional boundaries of the adjustable armrest, preventing adjustment failures or seat damage due to misoperation.
Operation recommendations: Ensure the gas spring is unlocked before adjustment (some models require stepping on the base switch); maintain body stability during adjustment to avoid sudden force that may damage the gas spring; regularly check for looseness at the armrest connection points after prolonged use to ensure normal adjustment function. Proper use of the adjustable armrest can effectively enhance the adaptability and service life of the office chair.
