Office Chair Accessories Details
Admin October 09, 2026
The details of office chair accessories cover various aspects such as casters, chair bases, gas lifts, seat plates, seats, armrests, connections between the seat and the backrest, backrests, lumbar pillows, headrests, trays, small connecting parts, and footrests.

- Casters: There are ordinary casters and PU casters. PU casters are suitable for wooden floors and computer rooms. There are also nylon casters, which offer high cost-effectiveness, are wear-resistant, and have strong load-bearing capacity, but may not be smooth enough on hard floors. Metal casters glide smoothly but are expensive. For offices with carpets, large casters with brakes should be selected.
- Chair Bases: The thickness of the iron frame affects the service life. Surface treatments include polishing, painting, baking paint, and electroplating, with electroplating being of good quality and less prone to rust. The materials for five-star bases include nylon, steel, and aluminum alloy. Nylon bases are lightweight, quiet, and corrosion-resistant but have limited load-bearing capacity. Steel bases have strong load-bearing capacity and stability, but inferior products are prone to rust. Aluminum alloy bases have the best overall performance but are the most expensive.
- Gas Lifts: Also known as telescopic rods, they are used to adjust the height and rotation and operate based on high-pressure nitrogen. Safety is crucial. Regular products need to pass international safety certifications such as SGS and BIFMA and undergo at least 120,000 anti-explosion fatigue tests. It is recommended to choose products of grade 4 or above with TUV and SGS certifications.
- Seat Plates: They support the seat and connect to the gas lift, serving as the core adjustment hub. Ordinary office chairs have basic functions, while ergonomic chair seat plates are more refined and intelligent. High-end seat plates have synchronous tilt functions. Metal seat plates are more reliable, and the key is to check the smoothness of the tilt.
- Seats: They are composed of wood panels, sponges, and upholstery. The quality and thickness of the sponge affect comfort, and upholstery options include linen, mesh, and leather. The seat cushion should not be too soft. Mesh upholstery is breathable but may lack sufficient support. High-density sponges provide enough support, andๆผๆฅ (stitched) models are also an option.
- Armrests: The thickness affects the quality. Hardcore users can choose 6D armrests, while those with ordinary needs can choose 4D armrests. At a minimum, they should be adjustable up and down.
- Connections between the Seat and the Backrest: The seat and the backrest are separate and connected by steel pipes or steel plates. Steel plates are usually 6mm or 8mm thick, and steel plates with a width of less than 6cm must be 8mm thick.
- Backrests: They are made of steel frames or plastic frames combined with mesh. Mesh or cotton backrests are more comfortable than plastic ones, being breathable and not causing sweating. Choosing an aluminum frame provides stable load-bearing capacity and allows for a large-angle recline of 135ยฐ without wobbling.
- Lumbar Pillows: An appropriate lumbar pillow can reduce fatigue from prolonged sitting. It should either be adjustable or able to self-adjust.
- Headrests: They are suitable for users who work long hours. Avoid fixed models and prioritize 2D or elastic models, preferably with memory foam filling.
- Trays: They are steel plates that connect the seat and the gas lift. Good trays are made of aluminum alloy, and it is recommended to choose those with anti-explosion steel plates.
- Small Connecting Parts: Screws and nuts should be tightened regularly to prevent the chair from making noises.
- Footrests: Choose hidden telescopic models that do not take up space and can be extended for lying down during lunch breaks.
