Composition of Office Chair Accessories

Admin October 16, 2026

The components of office chair accessories mainly include three categories: core components, other parts, and accessories related to adjustment and support functions.

Core components are the fundamental structural parts of an office chair. The seat cushion is the part that directly bears the weight of the human body, and its comfort directly affects the user experience. It is usually composed of wood, sponge, and fabric, and the combination of different materials affects the firmness and breathability of the seat cushion. The backrest provides support for the human back, helping to maintain the correct sitting posture and reduce back pressure. The five-star base (or chair base) is the frame that supports the entire chair, generally made of metal or plastic, and its shape design ensures the stability of the chair. The casters (rollers) are installed at the bottom of the five-star base, facilitating flexible movement of the chair on the ground. Depending on the usage scenario, the material and size of the casters vary. The pneumatic height adjustment system (gas lift/pneumatic rod) is the key component for adjusting the height of the chair. It realizes the lifting function of the chair through the principle of air pressure to meet the needs of users of different heights. The base plate connects the seat cushion and the pneumatic height adjustment system, providing stability and support, and also controlling functions such as the tilt angle of the chair.

Other parts further enhance the comfort and functionality of the office chair. The chair seat is similar to the seat cushion but emphasizes the overall structure more. It is usually composed of wood, sponge, and fabric, providing comfortable support for the buttocks. The armrests can reduce arm fatigue. Depending on the design, some armrests can be adjusted in height and angle to adapt to different sitting postures. The chair back is an extension of the backrest. Some chair backs are designed with ventilation holes to increase breathability and prevent a stuffy feeling during long-term use. The lumbar pillow and headrest provide additional support for the waist and neck respectively, relieving the pressure on the waist and neck, especially suitable for users who sit for long periods.

Accessories related to adjustment and support functions are mainly found in high-end office chairs. The adjustable lumbar support can be adjusted in position and support force according to individual needs, providing personalized lumbar support. The elastic support frame is used for rotational buffering, making the chair more stable and smooth during rotation. Dynamic support technology components such as dual dynamic lumbar support and flexible back-following design can automatically adjust the support force and angle according to the body's movements, providing support that better fits the body's curves.
