Noon Break and Office Chair Materials

Admin October 09, 2026

Common materials for noon break chairs and office chairs include metal frames paired with different panel materials, as well as mesh fabrics, each with its own characteristics.

A common combination is a metal frame paired with eco-friendly plastic. Using cold-rolled steel for the frame ensures structural stability, while eco-friendly plastic is used for the desktop and seat. This material offers excellent cost-effectiveness, featuring waterproof, stain-resistant, and easy-to-clean properties. It is lightweight and easy to move. Moreover, plastic is flexible and less prone to cracking, with some noon break folding chairs also using carbon steel materials combined with plastic components. However, the hardness of plastic panels is slightly lower than that of wooden boards.

Pairing a metal frame with multi-layered solid wood panels is also a good choice. The frame is again made of cold-rolled steel, while the desktop and seat are made of multi-layered solid wood. This option offers a better texture than plastic, with a warm touch, stronger load-bearing capacity, and a wood grain design that creates a cozy environment. The panels are hard and scratch-resistant. However, multi-layered solid wood is susceptible to moisture, and in humid southern regions, improper maintenance can lead to bulging and deformation. It should not be cleaned with large amounts of water directly, resulting in slightly higher maintenance costs.

A metal frame paired with full solid wood involves using solid wood for both the frame and panels. This material is highly eco-friendly, with no harmful substances released from chemical adhesives. It has a warm texture, providing high comfort when in contact with the human body, and has a long service life. However, it is heavy and difficult to move, with a much higher price than other materials. It is also greatly affected by temperature and humidity, prone to deformation and cracking, and requires significant maintenance effort.

An aluminum alloy frame paired with plastic panels uses aluminum alloy for the frame and eco-friendly plastic for the panels. The aluminum alloy frame is corrosion-resistant and oxidation-resistant, lighter than cold-rolled steel, and suitable for humid, salt-laden coastal areas in the south, effectively preventing rust. However, the cost of aluminum alloy is slightly higher, resulting in a higher overall price, and the hardness of plastic panels is slightly lower than that of wooden boards.

Mesh fabric is commonly found in ergonomic computer chairs and gaming chairs, such as breathable mesh made of polyester weave, which is friendly for summer use, keeping users cool and comfortable.
