Non-Adjustable Office Chair
A non-adjustable office chair may be due to its fixed design or damaged components, while adjustable office chairs require corresponding operations based on their types to restore adjustability.

Non-Adjustability Due to Fixed Design
Some office chairs are designed with a fixed structure from the outset, lacking an adjustable backrest function. Their backrests are tightly connected to the seats and cannot move. Manufacturers may design them this way considering specific usage scenarios. For example, in work environments that require maintaining a fixed sitting posture, such as laboratories and precision machining workshops, fixed-structure office chairs can ensure the stability of the chair, prevent the user's attention from being distracted by backrest movement, and also ensure safety by preventing accidental backrest movement that could cause the user to fall.
Non-Adjustability Due to Damaged Components
- Broken Connecting Shaft: The connecting shaft of the backrest is an important component that supports its movement. If the connecting shaft breaks, the connection between the backrest and the seat will be damaged. When the user leans back, the backrest cannot normally support the force of the body leaning back, resulting in the chair being non-adjustable.
- Loose Screws: The screws on the chair serve to fix the backrest. If the screws are loose, the backrest connection will be unstable. Leaning back in this situation may cause the backrest to suddenly detach. To avoid such accidents, the chair cannot be adjusted.
Restoration Methods for Adjustable Office Chairs
- Office Chairs with In-Place Locking Bases: These chairs have specific operating methods to control the movement of the backrest. Pull the handle to the right to unlock the backrest for movement; push it to the left to lock the angle. The cylindrical knob on the base also has an adjustment function. Rotating it clockwise can enhance the rebound support force, while rotating it counterclockwise can weaken it. Users can adjust it according to their own needs.
- Reclining Office Chairs: Check the wired remote control switch. If it is not closed, it may be due to a loose, broken, or detached wired remote control. For a loose wired remote control, adjust the position of the nut accordingly; if it is broken, replace the wired remote control; if it is detached, re-hook it. If the issue is with the small gas cylinder, pinch the thin end with your hand and press it. If there is no air, the gas cylinder needs to be replaced.
