Mobile Office Chair Casters
There are various types of mobile office chair casters and corresponding solutions, allowing you to choose the appropriate type based on your needs.

I. Casters with Locking Function These casters usually have a diameter of 60 millimeters and are designed with a focus on noise reduction and floor protection. The outer part of the casters is wrapped in soft PU material, which not only reduces friction damage to solid wood floors but also lowers the noise generated by the friction of metal components through a noise-reducing sleeve. Their core feature is the locking mechanism: when you need to fix the position of the chair, simply pull down the locking device on the caster, and the caster will be locked and unable to rotate; when you need to move the chair, lift up the locking device to unlock it. This design is suitable for scenarios where you frequently need to switch between a fixed and mobile state, such as in offices, study areas, or meeting rooms.
II. Gravity Casters Gravity casters achieve dynamic resistance adjustment through their internal mechanical structure. When the chair bears weight, the gears or friction plates inside the caster increase the resistance to left and right rotation, making the movement process more stable but requiring more force. Their advantage lies in extremely low noise during movement, making them suitable for environments with high noise reduction requirements, such as libraries, recording studios, or nighttime office settings. However, it should be noted that the movement resistance of gravity casters increases with the load, and users with lighter weights may need to exert additional force to push the chair.
III. Fixed Foot Pads Fixed foot pads are an alternative solution to casters, completely restricting the movement of the chair through physical means. To use them, you first need to remove the original casters and then insert the foot pads into the caster holes on the chair base. The bottom of the foot pads is usually made of anti-slip rubber or hard plastic to ensure that the chair remains stable and does not slide. This design is suitable for elderly users or those with mobility issues, as well as for children's use scenarios, as it can prevent accidental falls caused by chair movement.
IV. Size and Specification Selection The size of the casters directly affects the mobility and stability of the chair. Common specifications include 60mm and 65mm. When choosing, measure the diameter of the original casters or the distance between the caster holes on the chair base to ensure compatibility with the new casters. In addition, there are various specialized casters on the market, such as 8060 2-inch black PU fixed casters (suitable for hard floors), heavy-duty universal casters (with strong load-bearing capacity, suitable for heavy users), and silent office chair universal casters (combining silence and flexibility). You can choose the brand and specification according to your specific needs. It should be noted that the prices of casters from different brands vary greatly. It is recommended to give priority to products that have passed ISO or domestic 3C certification to ensure material safety and service life.
