Mesh Office Chair Cleaning
The cleaning of mesh office chairs can follow these steps:

Step 1: Remove Dust
Use a vacuum cleaner to thoroughly remove dust from the surface of the mesh office chair, paying special attention to the gaps and fabric folds. If a vacuum cleaner is not available, gently tap with a feather duster or a soft-bristled brush to initially remove loose dust. This step prevents secondary contamination of fabric fibers by dust during subsequent cleaning.
Step 2: Spray Cleaner
Dilute a neutral cleaner in a 1:10 ratio and pour it into a spray bottle. Spray evenly over the chair's surface. The cleaner should cover all stained areas but avoid excessive spraying that could allow liquid to seep into the internal structure. For stubborn stains, apply undiluted cleaner directly to the affected areas.
Step 3: Let Stains Decompose
After spraying the cleaner, let it sit for 3-5 minutes to allow the surfactants to fully penetrate the fibers and decompose organic stains such as grease and sweat. For special stains like coffee or ink, extend the sitting time to 10 minutes or use a soft-bristled brush to aid penetration.
Step 4: Deep Cleaning
- With Professional Equipment: Use a sauna machine or high-temperature steam cleaner to alternately rinse at least twice with temperatures between 60-80โ. High temperatures accelerate stain removal and kill mites and bacteria. Maintain a distance of 10-15cm between the equipment and the chair surface to prevent fabric deformation.
- Without Professional Equipment: Gently brush along the fiber texture using a soft-bristled brush (such as a toothbrush or a dedicated fabric brush), focusing on dirt at mesh intersections. Apply even pressure to avoid damaging the fabric coating.
Step 5: Drying
Immediately after cleaning, use a water absorber or a dry towel to remove residual moisture, preventing it from seeping into the foam padding and causing mold. If no water absorption equipment is available, activate the chair's built-in drying function (if available) or use a hairdryer on the cool setting from a distance (over 30cm). For natural air drying, ensure ventilation and avoid direct sunlight to prevent fabric fading.
Step 6: Protective Measures
After drying, cover the chair with a breathable fabric cover. Regularly washing the cover reduces direct contamination. For daily use, it is recommended to wipe the chair surface with a damp cloth weekly and perform a deep clean monthly to extend its lifespan.
Special Case Handling: If you do not have a vacuum cleaner or high-temperature equipment at home, dissolve a small amount of detergent in water, use a slightly damp, wrung-out cloth to repeatedly wipe the chair surface, then gently brush the mesh gaps with a soft brush, and finally air dry in a well-ventilated area. This method is suitable for routine maintenance of mild stains.
