Manual Assembly of Office Chair

Admin October 22, 2026

Refer to the following steps for manually assembling an office chair:

I. Installing the Chair Wheels and Gas Lift

  1. Chair Wheel Installation: Insert each of the five chair wheels into the assembly holes of the five-star base one by one, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded in its hole. After completion, flip the five-star base so that the wheels face down and touch the ground, and check for stability.
  2. Gas Lift Installation: Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the central hole of the five-star base, place it vertically downward, and press lightly to ensure a tight connection between the gas lift and the base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height, so confirm that it is installed in the correct direction.

II. Securing the Seat Base and Cushion

  1. Seat Base Positioning: Place the seat base on the bottom of the cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the seat base (usually marked or with grooves corresponding to the cushion structure). After aligning the four screw holes of the seat base with those of the cushion, first screw in four B screws (or long screws) one by one for 3-4 turns to avoid misalignment caused by tightening all at once.
  2. Screw Tightening: Use a screwdriver or power tool to tighten the four screws one by one, ensuring a firm connection between the seat base and the cushion. The seat base is a key component for supporting body weight, so repeatedly check if the screws are loose.

III. Connecting the Cushion and Gas Lift
Align the central hole at the bottom of the cushion with the top of the gas lift and insert it vertically downward until it is fully seated. Keep the cushion balanced during this step to avoid damaging the gas lift or causing the seat to wobble due to tilting. After insertion, gently shake the cushion to confirm a secure connection.

IV. Installing the Backrest and Armrests

  1. Initial Backrest Fixing: Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the armrest installation positions on both sides of the cushion, insert them, and then use two C screws to pass through from the bottom of the armrest brackets to fix the bottom of the backrest. This step requires two people to collaborate to prevent the backrest from shifting.
  2. Final Backrest Fixing: Align the back of the backrest with the installation holes on the cushion bracket, and use D screws and two wrenches (or sockets) for double-locking fixation. Double-locking prevents the screws from loosening and ensures a stable connection between the backrest and the cushion.
  3. Armrest Installation: Press the button below the armrest surface (some models require pressing), and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively. A "click" sound indicates that they are properly installed.

V. Securing the Headrest (if applicable)
Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest, press the headrest installation area to make it fit against the backrest. Pass two E screws through the headrest fixing clips, first tighten them lightly for 3-4 turns to adjust the position, and then tighten the screws one by one. The height of the headrest should be adjusted according to the user's needs to ensure comfortable neck support.

Precautions:

  • Check that all accessories are complete before installation to avoid interruption due to missing parts halfway through.
  • Tighten the screws in stages, first pre-tighten and then reinforce, to prevent component deformation.
  • Test the lifting and lowering function of the gas lift after installation to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise.
  • After assembly, comprehensively check the connection points of all components and shake the chair to confirm stability.
