Manual Adjustment Office Chair
Manual adjustment office chairs require operation based on different adjustment mechanisms, mainly divided into three categories: recline adjustment, height adjustment, and other adjustments (such as headrest and armrest). The specific methods are as follows:

1. Recline Adjustment
Recline adjustment is used to adjust the tilt angle of the chair back, with common mechanisms including levers, knobs, and pneumatic systems:
- Lever Adjustment System:
- Locate the adjustment lever (usually located on the right or left side under the seat). If the chair has a locking function, unlock it first (e.g., by pulling up or pushing the lever).
- Lean back and adjust the lever simultaneously to achieve a comfortable angle for the chair back, then relock the position (if a fixed angle is desired).
- Knob Adjustment System:
- Find the knob at the center of the lower part of the seat. Turn it clockwise to increase recline resistance and counterclockwise to decrease resistance to accommodate different weights or usage habits.
- Some chairs may be equipped with a separate angle adjustment knob; refer to the instruction manual for operation.
- Pneumatic Adjustment System:
- The pneumatic lever is usually shared with the height adjustment lever. Adjust the recline angle by pushing in different directions (e.g., forward or backward, or left or right). When adjusting, gently pull the lever and slowly move the chair back.
2. Height Adjustment
Height adjustment requires adjusting the distance between the seat and the ground through a control device. The operation steps are as follows:
- Locate the Control Device:
- After sitting down, pull up the control lever under the seat or turn the knob (some models require standing operation). If unsure, read the instruction manual or try each lever one by one.
- Adjust the Seat Height:
- Slowly move the chair to a comfortable position, adjusting the height in small increments (a few centimeters at a time).
- For pneumatic models, repeatedly push the lever up and down ("pumping") to fine-tune the height; some models require pulling the lever up to raise the seat and pressing it down to lower the seat.
- Match the Usage Scenario:
- When working on a computer, keep your eyes level with the monitor; when working at a desk, keep your elbows level with the desk; for prolonged sitting, ensure your feet are flat on the ground to avoid suspension.
3. Other Adjustments
Some office chairs support personalized adjustments of components such as headrests and armrests:
- Headrest Adjustment:
- Lift the headrest to adjust its height. Some models support forward and backward movement (e.g., the Qingxian Dynamic Ergonomic Chair); adjust according to neck support needs.
- Armrest Adjustment:
- Adjust the height of the armrests to match the desk height, avoiding obstruction of arm or knee movement; if armrests are not needed, they can be removed or lowered to the lowest position.
Precautions: Before adjusting, confirm the type and functions of the chair to avoid damage from forced operation; if adjustment fails, check if the pneumatic rod or mechanical structure is stuck, and contact after-sales service if necessary.
