Making Simple Office Chairs
Admin October 09, 2026
There are two common methods for making simple office chairs, namely nut office chairs and simple folding chairs. Here are the specific introductions:

Method for Making Nut Office Chairs
- Making a Human Back Model: First, create a model that conforms to the shape of the human back. This model will serve as the basic framework for placing and welding the nuts, ensuring that the chair back made subsequently fits the curve of the human back and provides comfortable support.
- Nut Placement and Welding: Place the nuts evenly on the made human back model, and then use welding tools to firmly weld the nuts onto the model. During the welding process, pay attention to ensuring the neat arrangement of the nuts and the firmness of the welding to avoid looseness or skewing.
- Polishing Treatment: After welding, use polishing tools to polish the surface of the nuts to make it flat and smooth, preventing scratches to the human body during use. When polishing, pay attention to applying uniform force to ensure a consistent surface texture of the entire chair back.
- Wooden Post Shaping Treatment: According to the marks left by the human back on the model, polish the wooden post to form a shape corresponding to the chair back. This can make the chair back fit better with the wooden post, increasing the stability and comfort of the chair.
- Wood Wax Oil Treatment: Pour wood wax oil onto the polished wooden post and let it dry naturally. Wood wax oil can protect the surface of the wooden post, prevent it from cracking and decaying, and also enhance the gloss of the wooden post, improving the overall aesthetics of the chair.
- Assembly and Fixation: Finally, fix the made nut chair back structure onto the wooden post to complete the making of the nut office chair. The fixation method can be screw fixation or welding fixation to ensure a firm connection between the chair back and the wooden post.
Method for Making Simple Folding Chairs
- Pattern Drawing and Cutting: Stick masking paper on the surface of the woodworking board, and then draw the pattern of the chair on the masking paper. Use cutting tools to cut the woodworking board into corresponding shapes according to the pattern to obtain the various components for making the chair.
- Polishing Treatment: Polish the edges and corners of the cut woodworking board components to make them smooth and prevent scratches to the human body during use. When polishing, pay attention to treating all edges and corners properly to ensure the safety of the chair.
- Splicing and Hinge Installation: Splice the polished woodworking board components together, use a hole opener to make holes at the positions where hinges need to be installed, and then install the hinges. The installation of the hinges should be firm to enable the folding function of the chair.
- Fixing Structure: Make angled holes at the support points of the chair and install a fixing structure through these holes to ensure that the chair remains stable during use and does not shake or fold.
