LINO Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

The LINO office chair, designed by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin and launched by the Herman Miller brand, focuses on functionality and minimalist design, offering a variety of adjustable features to meet personalized needs.

The design philosophy of the LINO office chair emphasizes 'essential comfort,' eliminating redundant decorations and achieving efficient support through modular adjustments. Its core adjustable features include the following aspects:

1. Seat Height Adjustment Controlled by a handle on the right side, pulling the handle while standing up raises the seat, and pulling it while sitting down lowers the seat. The goal is to have both feet flat on the ground with the knees and hips at approximately a 90ยฐ angle, ensuring smooth blood circulation in the legs. This feature accommodates users of different heights and desk heights.

2. Seat Depth Adjustment (Select Models) After pulling the handle outward, the seat depth can be adjusted by moving the legs forward or backward. Once the handle is released, the seat is fixed. The correct position is to leave about a three-finger width between the back of the knee and the edge of the seat, avoiding pressure on the nerves behind the thigh while providing sufficient support for the lower back.

3. Recline Resistance and Angle Limit Adjustment

  • Recline Resistance: While sitting upright, rotate the button on the right-side lever. Turning it in the '+' direction increases resistance, while turning it in the '-' direction decreases resistance, matching the user's weight and reclining habits.
  • Recline Angle Limit: Rotating the lever backward increases the maximum recline angle, while rotating it forward limits the angle. This should be activated while sitting upright or slightly reclined to avoid sudden locking and loss of balance.

4. Armrest Adjustment

  • Height Adjustment: Press the button on the side of the armrest and move it up or down to a height where the shoulders are relaxed when the arms hang naturally, preventing shoulder and neck fatigue caused by shrugging.
  • Depth Adjustment (Select Models): Hold the armrest and slide it forward or backward to adjust it so that the elbows are level with the keyboard, reducing wrist pressure.

5. Lumbar Support Adjustment The lumbar support can slide up and down, allowing users to adjust the support position according to their lumbar curve, enhancing lumbar support and relieving fatigue from prolonged sitting.

The LINO office chair balances functionality and aesthetics through modular design, offering a diverse color palette to suit different office environments. All adjustable features are implemented through mechanical structures, requiring no tools for operation, combining practicality with durability, and making it suitable for scenarios requiring prolonged sitting.
