Leisure Rattan Woven Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

The leisure rattan woven office chair is a piece of furniture that combines practicality and leisure, featuring adjustable sitting and lying positions, breathable and eco-friendly materials, but requiring mold prevention treatment to adapt to humid environments.

In terms of functional features, the leisure rattan woven office chair breaks through the single sitting posture limitation of traditional office chairs. Taking the Wenna reclining folding chair as an example, its backrest angle can be freely adjusted, meeting the need for an upright sitting posture during office work and allowing adjustment to a lying position for more comfortable relaxation during lunch breaks or short rests. This design achieves angle changes through mechanical structures or elastic supports, typically covering a range from 90ยฐ (sitting posture) to 180ยฐ (lying flat). Some products are also equipped with retractable footrests to further enhance comfort.

Regarding material characteristics, rattan weaving belongs to natural plant fiber materials, possessing the physical properties of being lightweight and tough. With a relatively low density (about 0.6-0.8g/cmยณ), the chair as a whole is lightweight, facilitating easy movement or folding for storage. Meanwhile, the tensile strength of rattan strips can reach 50-100MPa, enabling them to withstand daily usage pressures. Breathability is another significant advantage. The pore structure on the surface of rattan weaving (with a porosity of about 30%-50%) promotes air circulation, reducing the stuffy feeling during prolonged sitting, especially suitable for summer use. Additionally, the main components of rattan are cellulose (40%-60%) and hemicellulose (20%-30%). These natural components do not require the addition of chemical adhesives during the production process, meeting environmental standards.

It should be noted that rattan materials are sensitive to environmental humidity. When the relative humidity exceeds 75%, the cellulose in rattan strips absorbs moisture from the air, causing a diameter expansion of about 5%-10%, which may lead to structural deformation or loosening at connections. More seriously, humid environments accelerate mold growth, especially in micro-cracks on the surface of rattan strips where mold spores easily attach and multiply, affecting the service life and aesthetic appeal. To address this issue, modern technology employs copper-based preservative impregnation treatment. By applying high pressure, the preservative components penetrate into the interior of rattan strips and form chemical bonds with lignin, effectively inhibiting mold growth while maintaining the natural texture of rattan. After mold prevention treatment, rattan woven furniture can achieve a mold inhibition rate of over 90% in an environment with 85% humidity, and its service life can be extended to 5-8 years.
