Leather Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

Leather office chairs are office chairs made of leather or faux leather as the upholstery. Common types include reception chairs, ergonomic chairs, and executive chairs, with a variety of frame materials and prices varying based on style and functionality.

The classification of leather office chairs is mainly based on differences in functionality and design. Reception chairs are a common type, typically used in conference rooms or reception areas. Their frames come in two main types: solid wood and steel. Solid wood frames use natural wood as the base material, with surfaces polished and painted, offering a natural texture and a warm touch, but requiring attention to moisture prevention and crack prevention. Steel frames are formed by welding cold-rolled steel plates or steel pipes, with surfaces treated through electroplating or spray coating, providing high strength and corrosion resistance, suitable for modern minimalist spaces. The upholstery options for reception chairs mainly include cowhide and PU leather: cowhide is divided into top-grain and split-grain leather. Top-grain leather retains natural pores, offering superior breathability and durability, but at a higher price; split-grain leather is the lower fibrous layer of cowhide, with a surface film treatment, offering lower cost but slightly weaker breathability; PU leather is a synthetic material that simulates the texture of leather through chemical processes, offering wear resistance, easy cleaning, and affordability, making it a cost-effective choice.

In addition to reception chairs, ergonomic chairs and executive chairs also commonly use leather materials. Ergonomic chairs focus on lumbar and neck support design, with frames often made of steel or high-strength plastic, paired with breathable mesh and leatherๆ‹ผๆŽฅ (stitched) upholstery, balancing comfort and durability. Executive chairs are positioned as high-end, typically equipped with adjustable headrests, armrests, and lumbar supports, with frames mainly made of solid wood or steel, and upholstery often using top-grain cowhide, exuding a business-like quality.

In terms of price, leather office chairs show a wide range due to differences in materials and functionality. Taking reception chairs as an example, models with solid wood frames paired with PU leather typically range from 300-600 yuan, while those with steel frames paired with cowhide may exceed 800 yuan. Ergonomic chairs, due to their higher design complexity, generally range from 500-1500 yuan. Executive chairs, with upgraded materials and functionality, can reach over 2000 yuan, with some imported brands even exceeding 5000 yuan.

When selecting, consider the usage scenario and budget: for cost-effectiveness, choose reception chairs with steel frames paired with PU leather; for comfort and durability, top-grain cowhide ergonomic chairs or executive chairs are better choices; also pay attention to the frame's load-bearing capacity, the upholstery's breathability, and the practicality of adjustable features.
