Leather Office Chair Mishap
There is currently no complete event report specifically addressing the 'leather office chair mishap,' but office chairs as a whole suffer from quality non-compliance and safety hazards, and leather office chairs may also face similar risks.

From consumer feedback, it is evident that quality issues with similar leather seats are not isolated cases. For example, some consumers have reported that leather dining chairs purchased for a few hundred yuan each developed peeling after just a few years, and the internal structure of the chairs may consist of only a very thin layer of board. Although this pertains to dining chairs, leather office chairs share certain similarities in materials and structure with dining chairs. If production processes and quality control are inadequate, similar problems may arise, such as easy wear and tear on the leather surface and unstable internal structures.
The sampling inspection results from the State Administration for Market Regulation also indicate that the overall quality of office chairs is not promising. The inspection found that 15 batches of office chairs were non-compliant, with a non-compliance rate of 14.9%. The issues identified include stability problems, which may cause office chairs to tip over easily during use, posing a risk of injury to users; problems with caster wear and tear, which affect the smooth movement and lifespan of office chairs; and issues with formaldehyde emissions, as long-term exposure to excessive formaldehyde can harm human health, causing respiratory diseases, allergic reactions, and other problems. Although these inspection results do not specifically mention leather office chairs, as a type of office chair, leather office chairs may also suffer from these issues.
To avoid purchasing low-quality leather office chairs, consumers should carefully review product quality inspection reports when making selections, opting for reputable brands and trustworthy merchants. Additionally, they should pay attention to the materials, structure, and craftsmanship of office chairs to ensure they meet relevant standards and requirements, thereby safeguarding their own safety and rights during use.
